AKA...what a life has more depth and isn't as derivative as BTL. I like both though, and maybe my opinion will change in a few months. Right now it's definitely WAL.

Bring The Light because of it's energy and it's a belter when played live. I've really grown to love that song. AKA is okay.

What A Life because although it is quite inoffensive and gets monotonous unless on drugs, Bring The Light is a fucking disgrace of a tune.

Just because it has energy doesn't make it a good song. The melody is infantile and it goes on for far too long. And yes, I would criticize it equally if it had been written by Noel.

The first two minutes of BTL are way better than the whole AKA but the repeativeness of BTL i dont like it... so my vote goes to ...what a life

What a life. bring the lights may sound great (especially live) but the lyrics are so incredibly bad

Bring The Light has doubled the tune it was before with the addition of the brass section.

Bring The Light. Great energy, fantastic live and they have really taken it to another level on this tour.

Energy means nothing if everything else that makes for a good song is lacking.
Death metal songs have more "energy" than BTL, but I don't think many of you will pick them over BTL or WAL.
WAL isn't even that great tbh, got old kinda fast. Baffles me how it was Noel's favorite song to have emerged from the HFB sessions when he had also written the likes of AOTR, ASGOG, etc...hell it wasn't even the best AKA titled song on the album!
I fear he lets Sara influence his musical decisions and directions a bit too much these days.

I'm a huge fan of most of Noel's songs, mainly because of his lyrics and the passion behind his voice, but I love the pace and vibrance of Liam-sung songs, and for me, I prefer BTL over WAL any day of the week, mainly because seeing BTL live did it for me.

AKA... What a Life is way too repetitive but I still prefer it over Bring The Light.
Though the recent live performances of the song have improved it but I still prefer What a Life. Two of the weakest songs in both catalogues in my opinion.

WAL was the song I was least impressed with from Noel's solo album. Songs usually don't grow on me. Usually I hear a song and within the first three listens I've formed my opinion and it rarely changes, but it did with WAL.
I still love the "Over the sunset on the horizon, maybe you dream, but it tastes like poison" line. Great imagery. My great critique of the song is the repetitiveness of the lyrics. Noel could have taken more time to flush them out. But I do like that WAL has more depth.
With BTL it isn't that good of a song. Energy? Yes. But as Ash&Debris said, metal has energy. The lyrics are still poor. The melody is still weak. And it still stretches on for far too long. If it's about the music....then BTL fails in my opinion.
I personally don't count live versions in these type of polls. I always look toward the record. The new live versions of BTL is definitely a step above the previous live versions, though I still dislike the backing vocals by Andy and Gem on that song. However, the live versions of WAL were also pretty good, especially the version at the Brits and the later versions toward the end of the tour.
In the end, if I were given the choice of one and only one song to put on an album and which to keep off: WAL would stay on and BTL would be off.

Don't know why you even mentioned metal? I like a good many genre's but I like rock n roll the best and this is a rollicking rock n roll number. No thought or analysis required to appreciate it. Well I listened to WAL a couple of times a few years ago. Pretty average.
