TDOYAM video was way better than this. Its good that they are all in a series of sort but this video was strange. I was found this video and the whole marriage cancellation thing to be pretty funny, unintentionally funny perhaps. So both vids so far sees chicks falling into water.

It's OK. Hate the brides hair.
The bit @ the end as Noel walks into the diner is awesome. Noel looks super cool.
Noel flips the page in the book backward....weird. i know he doesn't know how to drive but surely he know how read well enough to fake reading a book. ;p Although he does it right before the cowboy shows up. Maybe it's the book that is part of the impetus.
Noel was writing those first couple lines of WAL in it (a song about embracing your life) and the waitress sees it and decides to leave the shit of her life behind and travel off in pursuit of a better life.
In this Noel flips the page of book backward and a man, presumably from her past, shows up. Obviously the love of her life. Maybe the turning back of the page is a signal of turning her heart back a bit to before she settled on the douche she is marrying? Also Noel turns his head to the right immediately before the bride turns her head to the right to avoid the kiss that would seal their marriage.
And the groom does turn towards Noel with like a was it you? face. Which is when Noel makes that hilarious...'search me" face.

3 things about this video:
1- I sat through the whole thing like "Where's the link to TDOYAM?" until the end LOL
2- Couldn't they have just walked round the pool?
3- I love Noel's "Not my problem, bitch" face at 2.33

Ohh it´s a really nice video, not the best. I have found some good links beetwen the TDOYAM and IIAHG. I think there is some concept under the stories and videos: 1. In the first video, the restaurant girl is pushed into the pool to change her mind and life so she can go away with the band. In this video, the lady who is about to get married does the same to run away from her destiny, so water is playing a symbolic roll of "transformation" in both videos. 2. The band, they might represent the joy of the main character´s soul when it is about to make a conscious decision, I mean when both ladies decide to change their lives and do something they really want to do. 3. Noel plays a mediator roll. In TDOYAM he helps or encourages the waitress to change and in this second video he is a priest, again a mediator roll. Now, look at the min. 2:53 in IIHAG and you´ll see the second waitress (redhead) from TDOYAM amid the people. She turns her head. So I guess the director is trying to tell us the Noel´s music encourages people to change in order to be yourself and not follow somebody else´s ideas or plans. What do you think??? seems to me the basis for the videos is the quote pictured on the death of you and me single on the music box's marquee here in l.a.: it's never too late to be what you might have been. |

I don't know what to think about the video. I still think that Noel messed up the production on this one, to me it feels like the electric guitars have sapped all the emotion from the song. As far as the video, the last few seconds of underwater kissing salvaged the concept for me.

Is the guy who seems to be the bride-to-be's father Viggo Mortensen? Or just a look-alike?? I'm surprised no one has brought this up so far. If that's him, that's a pretty big name actor to play in one of Noel's videos.
