This obviously must date back to the Oasis days, more specifically 1997/1998 and what Liam did first @ the Unplugged recording and then the VMAs.
I asked Dangirdbird why didn't Beady Eye was featured on Vh1 and its weekly countdown show(we all what being on that show does for artists) like it had been done with Fitz and the Tantrums(also signed to the same label).
Their answer basically was, we work with a lot of media outlets(letterman/fuse/vh1 & mtv) we submitted it but they refused to play it.
there was always this belief that MTV had blacklisted Liam, Noel and co. but there was never any solid proof per se.
thoughts?

if they have blacklisted them just for that incident thats outrageous,
they should just think about the music

well.... i mean what Liam did was childish, stupid, arrogant, whatever you wanna call it. But come on, it was decades ago. get over it. plus, this is a new band. Liam has been super professional with Beady Eye. Even if he was an asshole, why blacklist him and Oasis/Beady Eye but not a fucking douche like Kanye West or actual criminals like T.I., Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, Bobby Brown(who just had a Behind The Music special not long ago). I mean... Good God!

Thanks for your investigative work i agree but it's still annoying to find out that was the reason for them not getting any airtime. anyhow, i was just commenting on a post they made on facebook about Fitz &TT and that's how i found out. can't say i'm shocked but still....

You are assuming they were blacklisted for their behavior in the '90s. There is no evidence to back up that assumption. All Dangerbird said was VH1 wasn't interested in the song. We have no way of knowing why.

It was never on the Top 20 Countdown, but it was played by VH1. I'm 100% sure of that. And I'm pretty sure that it was played on MTV2/Hits.
So I think that your claim is unfounded.

Well, considered 99.98% of the music industry blacklisted then. You hear that Elia Kazan!! It's all your fault!

Perhaps they didn't consider the tracks good enough to play on their channels and Dangerbird Records weren't putting forward enough cash to change their minds?

Actually, here's what they said:
"Dangerbird Records+Management @luis - we work with VH1 and all these places all the time. Unfortunately not all bands are the same and they don't accept everything. Hopefully more to come when Beady Eye returns to America in the fall."
Not quite the same as "Beady Eye and Oasis are blacklisted because Liam spilled beer on stage in 1996."
Being that Liam was invited to TRL in 2000 (with a very amusing outcome), MTV US was going to broadcast their 2008 Terminal 5 show (before it was cancelled), and Beady Eye was interviewed on 120 Minutes I think that the blacklisting idea is completely bunk and you're barking up the wrong tree.

^^ I'm glad someone finally posted what they actually said and not what they "basically said" as per earlier in this thread

I forgot to mention when they made a huge deal about the DYKWIM? video premiere and the worldwide broadcast of the G-Mex show after the incidents in summer of '96. Yup, definitely blacklisted.

Maybe i am wrong, i have no problem admitting to that. the thought of the song not being strong enough to be put on air however is just inconceivable since Vh1 will play anything. and i mean ANYTHING.

They'll play anything that's popular... Beady Eye is quite the opposite over here.

They weren't blacklisted on MTV in the US.
They were just featured on 120 Minutes on MTV last month.
