Yea the demo was fake. Some dorky guy with a drum machine, apparently.  Gem's an okay singer, but not great. VERY nasal, but lacking the ballsy grunt of liam. Would be nice to hear him on the new album though, same with andy. I mean we have 4 decent singers in oasis now, why not? |

Because it wouldn't be Oasis then. Agreed, i don't think it would work if Gem and Andy started singing... maybe backing vocals like Gem does on My Generation but i wouldn't like them to sing on the album (well i would) but it wouldn't be Oasis... i have mixed feeling on it. I'd love to hear them sing but only at a gig where Liam was unable to be there or something |

Sorry mate, but don't quite agree on that one....
it may not be DM or MG oasis, but now Gem and Andy are as much part of the band as liam and noel, and as much part of the band as were guigsy and bonehead...
in the first 3 albums all songs were written by noel, on SOTSOG liam composed his first song( i believe), next on HC were featured songs by all members of the band except by alan white. Gem wrote "hung in a bad place", Andy wrote " A quick peep", liam wrote "born on a different cloud", "songbird" and "betterman", and the rest of the songs were written by noel...
So, if the band has space for tracks written by Gem and Andy, why not give the space also to sing?.... maybe for just one song each, and let noel sung 3 other tracks, leaving liam sung the 6-7 remaining ( in an 11-12 track album).....
maybe 6-7 songs are too few ( if well said....??)

Yeah but the majority of B-Sides are sung by Noel... Noel has always been seen as a singer in Oasis. Do you not regard Don't Look Back In Anger or Talk Tonight (for example) as Oasis. I'm not saying Gem or Andy singing would be a bad thing (don't get me wrong, i'd love them to sing). But with Noel singing more songs with Gem and Andy also having a song it would be like Liam not being there. It's difficult to explain but it would feel odd with Liam not singing the majority of the songs after 10 years of him doing that. It would not be Oasis as we know it |
