The wheel that breaks the butterfly? Not liking it initially. Apparantly Rihanna is featuring on one of their new album tracks.

Coldplay have gone shit. They used to be a good band.
Plus, if Rihanna features in one of their tracks it means they are selling out to the extreme

Horrible. Aweful sound, generic and repetitive melody and bland lyrics (para, para, paradise, oh ohoo...).

They should have released 'Charlie Brown' as their new single. That song is going to be huge hit all around the world. Very good tune in my opinion. Radio stations will eat that shit up. A lot of comments are spot on with becoming a U2-esque band. Johnny Buckland's solos sound more and more like The Edge with each passing album. If you didn't hear Chris Martin's voice, you wouldn't even think it is the same band from their debut album Parachutes.

I'm not saying Paradise is as good as Trouble or Don't Panic, but you have to expect massive change when you compare music made by 23 year old upstarts and 34 year old men. Hell, Arctic Monkeys changed in a much more extreme fashion much more quickly. And good thing they did, because they still sound vital because of it.

I'm not saying change is a bad thing I was only saying they are miles from where they began. Some may like, some may not. Kings of Leon sounded amazing on their first two albums. The two more recent efforts sound like a lost band musically. Anyways back to the Monkeys, If you take out Alex's voice and only play the instruments only, I think a lot of people would still guess an Arctic Monkeys song.

It's just so boring and unspectacular in every single way. That chorus is annoying, too.

Give him a vocoder effect on his voice and I'm sure he can beat Jayz during a "battle". Can't understand how this band falling down so much......

eh its not horrible but I'm let down a bit. Hurts like Heaven and Charlie Brown are fantastic tunes though and I'm still looking forward to the album. Rihanna thing is a pretty shameful though.

I dont know what to think of it... the best songs that we have heard arent the singles that were promoted(Major Minus and Charlie Brown) that could be a signal that the album is following some kind of concept and might have a similar feel.

Hurts Like Heaven and Moving To Mars are brilliant, and proof enough for me that they can still write great songs. The problem is that they're trying a little too hard to bag themselves a number one.

Disagree on both counts: Kings of Leon were always unspectacular and there's very little chance some Arctics fan from 2006 could listen to an instrumental version of Don't Sit Down or Brick By Brick and say, "So that's what they'll sound like in 5 years. Makes sense."

Sounds like One Republic. It's a shame, this band used to be great. They need to drop the gimmicks and props and go back to making music with soul. They peaked far too early with A Rush of Blood to the Head.
