Further to the announcement that 'AKA...What A Life!' will be the next single from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds we are pleased to confirm that the single is now available to pre-order here. The song will be available digitally from 11th September and on 7", CD and as a digital bundle from 17th October backed with a brand new B side - 'Let The Lord Shine A Light On Me' Anyone who would like to order the digital bundle, which will also include the forthcoming video, will have 'AKA...What A Life!' delivered to them on 11th September.
The new single is the second to be taken from the forthcoming debut album from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and the sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed that the track is featured on the new TV ad supporting the England football team from Vauxhall. The ad received it's first play on Friday evening and can be seen here.

Noel lifting Rolling Stones lyrics. lol First the Beatles' Rain, now the Stones' Shine A Light.
And nice one Bonkers. This has put everyone at ease. We will have a physical release. Nice to see the Noel team do the right thing and reward fans with that and a new b-side.

And songbirdsally was right to be suspicious about the non loading of Noel's website.
They must have been getting it ready to take orders for the WAL pre-orders.

So there was something going on at the website after all YES to vinyl & CD format btw And a new B-side! But when I click the link to pre-order, I only see the album and TDOYAM single? Anyone else having the same problem? Edit: Wait a minute, just read that again, it's only digital on 11th of September, and for the B-side + physical formats we have to wait till the 17th of October? That makes no sense? Same date as the album?

I don't like the fact that it's a digital release in a few days and then a physical in almost a month

I don't like the fact that it's a digital release in a few days and then a physical in almost a month Yeah that's stupid. I'm not going to buy it twice. I'll wait for the physical release..

I know Noel uses God and religious metaphors a lot in song lyrics, but song sounds like legitimate religious song.

Wonder if the b-side is the tune we heard a snippet of in Lord Don't Slow Me Down. That had lyrics about "if there's a God..."

Yeah, that's my only problem with it. I thought we'd be done with staggered release dates with Noel.

So with that, I'm assuming unless airplay happens on Monday or Tuesday, we're probably getting it on the 11th?

This site is shite, can't buy it! For what it's worth I filed a bug report with TopSpin about the problem. Hopefully it gets escalated to whoever runs NG.com and it gets sorted soon.

"Good" to see others having problems ordering the new single as well. At least now I can say to my self, that there isn't anything wrong with my computer. This can't be a UK only deal now, can it? They'll probably fix it sometime during the day. Oh, nice one with the new b-side I was thinking to myself yesterday, that Noel would put a remix as the b-side to it. I've a feeling that What A Life! is very remix friendly. Noel already asked Fatboy Slim to do a remix of it, but he wouldn't do it or something.
