It's so different than his other songs, you can't really compare them. It would be better to compare it against Kasabian, in which case it's in the realm of "Fire". It sounds nothing like Kasabian. Where are people getting this from? Same kind of area. Not so much the singles but you could compare it to a few album tracks. I suggested a few months ago that it might sound like Stuntman, and I wasn't too far off. |

Noel's best song since IIHAG.  you preceded me  I think there are better descriptions for this song than "sounds like kasabian". To me it's a further step in the evolution process POTQ>FD>WAL, something that couldn't have gone on an Oasis album. |

I don't know why everyone is going mental over that clip. Sure, I like it. And sure, it's got potential. But I didn't get the euphoric "holy shit this is a masterpiece" moment as I did with from the likes of IIHAG or even the RM demo from a couple years back. I'll await the finished product. Maybe then I'll get that euphoric sentiment, but right now I have it inked in as a good sounding clip with potential. Finally someone with a bit of sense on this forum. my thoughts exactly. |

And Mucky Fingers is his worst album track on the last 2 Oasis albums depending how you rank GOYHH, either way it's in the Mucky Fingers/High Horse/(Probably) All In The Mind bracket of uninspired, directionless song. |

Yes, that's why I didn't say his weakest song since "The Good Rebel", generally his post BHN B-sides have been poor and the odd one brilliant one we do get (LAMB) is an exception rather than the rule. His contributions to the albums have been rather more consistent and a much better barometer against which to judge his new stuff. Nothing I've said would indicate a) I thought Mucky Fingers was a B side or b) I expect album songs to be poor. It was a shit thread, doesn't mean you had to make it worse. |
