It must be said that I've never been so excited about hearing the rest of a song than I am at the moment after hearing the snippet of AKA...WAL! yesterday. It has the potential to be my favourite Noel written track in a long LONG time. Hopefully I'm not disappointed by the finished product. I was a bit worried before we had heard any tracks that Noel would descend into 'Dad Rock', but I'm glad he has kept that to the B-sides *cough* TGR *cough*.
Does anybody else feel that this could be Noel's best song in ages?

I'm on board. Was very happy when I first heard the clip and I'm really excited to hear how it turns out, especially the solo.

It could be it really could - but i think it may be wise to reign in them thoughts for a few days until we hear it in full, i have faith in Noel with this one, but for ones mental stability it may be best to be at a reserved disposition....at this point
The anticipation is killing me though

I'm agree with that, the drum loop is massive, his voice fantastic (probably his best ever). And the first time an "Oasis" with a dancefloor potential, I'm sure James Lavelle (Unkle) a friend of Noel is gonna played it and make a massive remix.

I don't know why everyone is going mental over that clip. Sure, I like it. And sure, it's got potential. But I didn't get the euphoric "holy shit this is a masterpiece" moment as I did with from the likes of IIHAG or even the RM demo from a couple years back.
I'll await the finished product. Maybe then I'll get that euphoric sentiment, but right now I have it inked in as a good sounding clip with potential.

Thats good, its a sign of the album having a huge variety of quality in that some people adore this tune or love another one, not one song is getting singled out at this point as being shit, let that with the album growing on us all - then this could easily be a big bastard of an album

Haven't thought of a comparison yet. I remember hearing IIHAG and saying that it would be Noel's best tune since DGA.
Can't think of one right now.
I have to hear more than a clip. If it were like 2 minutes of me hearing the song, that would probably be enough. I have to hear the whole thing. I will say that WAL is one of the best choruses that Noel has done in a long time, from what we've heard.

At first listen with this clip I thought "is this it?" But that's because it's probably edited en doesn't have the chance to build/to go somewhere. It was much better on second listened, even more so on third, fourth, etc.. listenings, it keeps getting better. The chorus is already stuck in my head. I think most people here are crazy about the 1:30 preview because it's special and it shows potential. The clip just isn't long enough to judge it properly. But if it's any indication, than it's going to be massive!

I'm with Deasy on this one. Love the 90secs we've heard so far, I'm sure that the full version will be an absolute tune.
Just bought myself a technics turntable... This had better be released on vinyl at some point and not just mp3 !

I feel very similarly to you too, from the parts we've heard of AKA...WAL! so far, it is shaping up to be one of my favorite Noel tunes in some time. I definitely like it more than IIHAG and TDOYAM, both songs which I also liked a lot to, but AKA...WAL! has something about it that touches me in a way that those don't.

I saw the hype on the form, heard it, and thought that is was really good - the chorus is awesome - and he sings it well, but I didn't feel the build up. The euphoria didn't come either. I hope it does with the full track. It's still a freaking great song though.

Exactly, Noel's an expert at writing tunes with the IIHAG vibe. WAL is a different animal entirely and an exciting one.

It's so different than his other songs, you can't really compare them.
It would be better to compare it against Kasabian, in which case it's in the realm of "Fire".
