Yep this was today, I was ecstatic when I heard he was on the show, as I listen to the show quite often.
And for the record, Wonderwall ranked 2nd in the Top 300 90's rock songs list and the next Oasis song was DLBIA at 104 (go figure).
Nirvana's 'Smells like a teen spirit' took first place.

Haven't heard this yet, but it does always help when a genius songwriter is also a genius comedian during a promotional stint doesn't it?

They didn't even mention his new career.

They didn't even mention his new career. That doesn't surprise me in the slightest- Triple M is a philistine station of the 'we love AC/DC and Pam Anderson' variety; totally profit driven and devoid of any kind of discerning insight. On their website, they say that Noel's new album is called 'If I Had a Gun'. There are simply no excuses for this kind of sloppy innacuracy in today's world of mass saturated, instantaneous information. Really, they don't give a shit about Noel's kind of music. They're always bagging Oasis as jokes and has beens on their site so in that respect, interviewing Noel on one of their programs was surprising. I suppose no publicity is bad publicity but fuck, they could have played 'The Death of You and Me'- it is the new fucking single afterall. Wankers. I never hear them play Oasis at all unless of course, there's that old chestnut of a nineties countdown where Wonderwall inevitably features. Why play the Gallaghers when there's so many Green Day songs out there. Green Day and tits and Triple M. YEAH!!!

Yeah its a shame really, at the very least they could have plugged in the release date of the actual album and that is all. On their website they got 'Exclusive: Oasis interview', like seriously its not that hard to do a bit of research in this modern day and age and find out that Oasis has disbanded. I really hate how the country never got over the infamous 'plane trip' back in 1998.

The Australian press would probably give their American counterparts a run for their money in the ignorance and cynicism stakes regarding the Gallaghers. Triple M is a fine exponent of this unprofessionalism.

Despite my grumpy outburst (of which I'm prone to many if I don't get me medication), Noel, as usual, makes the interview work. It is very funny. When not going solely on the attack, he frequently reveals an appealing wit.
It is very strange the 'Gallagher barrier' that stations like this, either consciously or not, seem to have. Seriously, their jaws would be on the floor if they'd heard 'If I Had a Gun'. All three tracks we've heard so far are ideal radio staples. I have a feeling though, that we won't hear much of the Chief on radio here. His loyal fan base should push the record higher in the charts than Beady Eye managed (17)- it will be interesting to see come October...

This is like listening to a bunch of drunk cockatoos interview a half-asleep and dazed Noel. I'm surprised Noel didn't sound too pissed at the fact that the IQ of the three interviewers combined was that of an eight year old boy.
