After reading and seeing several interviews with Noel I have the tendancy to pick up a sense of regret that he pulled the plug out of Oasis after the fight in Paris. Noel is stating things as: Liam has a great voice, I loved being in Oasis, I love playing stadiums like Wembly, I loved being in a band with People that were like me, I don't like being a frontman, I don't like doing small venues, maybe I should have just played the gig in Paris ect.... This is one of the interviews: live4ever.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ngpress&action=display&thread=68377&page=1

Both of them regret the split in my opinion but Noel more than Liam. Liam has been his usual self assured self in front of the camera saying oasis will never reform and constantly having a dig at Noel and stuff along that sort of stuff but has mentioned it's a shame some oasis songs will never be played again so he must regret it as he had an easy time of it with massive stadium tours beging worshipped by many but now has to start again and cope with not being in the best band in the world and prove himself.
Noel as you have mentioned has hinted a lot at how much he loved being in oasis and his trepidation of venturing out as a front man, also he knows deep down he made the decision to quit far too hastily and knows if he had done the final 3 shows then he would still be the man at the side of the stage and not the one in the centre.

Yeah I totally agree and I'm gonna be honest its quite annoying, he is coming across as miserable and it doesnt sell his project well.
Liam was buzzing about Beady Eye and still is, you can tell he is having a great time in the band and fair play. Don't get me wrong, I think Noel is a great songwriter and everything so far from The High Flying Birds has been pretty damn good but Noel get a grip and start being a little bit happier.

He's outright said that he regrets not doing those last gigs and continuing with his plan for a hiatus.
But he also said in the KROC interview somethig that I think sums up his opinion on the split
"It's a shame it had to end the way it did but, in hindsight, I think that everyone can agree that it was probably for the best."
I think he misses the idea of being in the band. But you can also tell that he got off on the buzz of finally being the sole arbiter of an album again. I think that he was tired and burnt out around 2000...but by the time he rediscovered the joy of making music again around the time of DBTT the band had already morphed into something else and I don't think he was truly happy with that but there was no way to turn it back.
I think part of the reason that he started getting so serious about the solo album concept, to the point that he was going to put Oasis on hiatus, was that he missed that level of tyranical control to a certain extent and the ability to say "I am writing all the songs for this album...I have a vision so everyone shut up and play what I tell them"

I think a large part of him definitely regrets the way things ended but honestly, they needed a break from each other for a little while. They'll be back (whether they like the band name or not!)

duh, it was only logical for him to feel that way. Same thing with Liam, they were in fucking OASIS!! for better or worse one of the biggest bands in the world to the day they called it quits. There are only a handful of rock bands that can fill out stadiums like it's no one's business, Oasis used to be in that select group. Beady Eye are great and all, same with Noel but it's never gonna be the same(cos the yeEEEAArs...) just kidding lol but you know what i mean. Liam's attitude towards it was always resentment, at least in my eyes. He was all like, yeah we're BDI now and we're great but.... same with Noel. Yeah, he may have more connections and be signed to a better deal/label but in the end it's not quite the same
