IMO i think that most of the fans of OASIS ,including me ,prefer the alternative version of WFTR that the original one
It was more soulful and had a emotional vibe. Noel and dave sardy should received the feedback of that critics and opinions.
Thats the same case with IIHAG I beg that someday come out a proper"alternative version" of IIHAG that were so good like WFTR.second version.
just a wish,just a thought-

Does IIHAG really need re-recording...

I'm a huge Oasis fan and I prefer both official versions of WFTR and IIHAG.
Just sayin'... as a popular member would say

I prefer the official version of WFTR, not a fan of the alternate version at all. But I would like to hear IIHAG with just Noel, his guitar, strings and maybe some choir.

I dig both versions of WFTR, just as I dig both versions of IIHAG. Great tunes.

you haven't even heard a proper rip yet. Exactly, please wait for the cd version. I was horrible with the good rebel after his first broadcast on Radio 1... now I just love this tune since the single released.

I'm convinced he rocked it up to avoid any resemblance to Sunday Morning Call. I like that tune but Noel doesn't and he really wants to get away from slow, strummed acoustic numbers, even if the melody is awesome like IIHAG. Personally I think it sounds great as recorded anyway, and while a more acoustic version with strings would be good, it may have also run the risk of being been a bit pedestrian.

You guys really need to stop listening to sound checks of half-finished songs that weren't yet meant for public consumption.
As an artist, I would be livid if this happened to me. And then when my art is finished in the way that I want it to be finished, someone then wants to critique it against the half-finished version that wasn't even supposed to be seen/heard by the masses in the first place.

What alternate version? It's a soundcheck recorded on a mobile phone. It goes without saying the official release is better. I don't understand how people can even debate that.

Oh.... I just herd Waiting for the Rapture Alt. Its soo much better than the original. More emotion and engrossing as a song.
This is def what IIHAG needs. The heavy guitars ruin the song..

After the hype wearing off, I have some actual criticism for IIHAG.
The melody is spot on, but why the hell did he drop the second part of the chorus melody? The closing one I mean.
Also, there's a genuine lack of drumming skill on the song. It's almost as if Tony was the drummer. There's like 2 transitions, and no fills of any kind whatsoever. If Noel is indeed as great a drummer as he claims to be, the song could've been much better. Imagine DLBIA without Alan's drumming. It just isn't the same.

WFTR album version is way better, the alt version belongs to a future anthology or something.

The alt. Version was a bonus track for a reason. It's worth having but inferior to the original.
Same goes for The Turning alt version. And Fade Away. And Cast No Shadow. And Up In The Sky. Etc etc

You have a very good point here, the drums are very repetitive.. Drums really can take a song to another level. He missed out on that here..
