is the best of the three songs we've heard so far. Try to forget that it's a b-side cos that automatically lends it an air of inferiority. Imagine it's an album track. It's the best.

Majority opinion would overwhelmingly say
1. IIHAG 2. TDOYAM 3. TGR
But that doesn't make your personal opinion invalid. Just puts you in the minority....

TGR is the best? The one that Noel picked out of the BHN trash can and said "Yeah, this will do as a B-Side I suppose"?

hehe
it's the weakest of the three. I'd say it sounds like it was record in 2001, which is probably right. So it doesnt really belong in the HFB project really.

won't say it's the "best" but I quite like it a lot. It's weird when you say you "know" one song's "better" than another even though you realize you listen to the "inferior" one more often.
Kinda like that with TDOYAM and TGR...I know that DOYAM is the superior and better crafted tune, but I actually find myself listening to TGR more often.
IIHAG trumps em' both at this point though.

I like The Good Rebel the more I listen to it but IIHAG is a better song.

thedon, I can never tell with you if you're being serious or taking the piss. anyway... I think TGR is kinda rubbish. if I imagine it as an album track, it'll be an instant skip

I'm all for everyone having their own opinions, thedon. Or at least I was, until you told me yours.

Musical taste is subjective, so your opinion is valid to share, but I strongly disagree.
I'd honestly put IIHAG at a 9, but I otherwise agree with you. TGR is far too repetitive for my tastes...there really is nothing to it.

I think EOTR and RM will be 9+ when we hear the final versions to be honest.

I think it will develop into a Slide Away or Talk Tonight type of song. Those where you listen to the live version far more than the album version. Can't wait to hear it live...

'Slide Away' is my favourite song of all time. I love the studio version and Noel's acoustic versions (from 1998 and from the STC acoustic tour). However, I don't think they ever TOTALLY nailed it as a full band live. IIHAG should be brilliant live in every possible setting; full band electric, solo acoustic or semi-acoustic with a string section, etc. Brilliant melody, some of his best lyrics and one of his best vocal performances since 2000.

no, to me TGR is better than TDOYAM(i find that song boring as shit), not saying it's terrible but just not my cup of tea. IIHAG however, is better than both of them.

IIHAG better than anything from noel since DBTT, DOYS was shitty album, Liam saved it a bit but still i preffer songs from DBTT - especialy the 1st and the last one.
