Just wanted to share my thoughts on the soundcheck version of IIHAG we've all heard.
There's lots of people raving about how good it's going to be.
Am i the only one who doesn't find it inspiring in the slightest? Melody is a bit boring, no apparent sing along chorus, overall very dull.
I hope i'm proved wrong when it finally hits our ears in its completion but based on what we heard of it so far i dont particularly rate it.
Why do alot of you like it so much?

I can't believe anyone would say the melody is boring. The melody is the best part of the song.
I play it to myself at least once a week on guitar. The melody is quite literally brilliant. Why does it not having a "sing-a-long" part make it a boring melody? And how is dull for not having it as you say. Because I would totally disagree. If you're not singing along to the "forgive i if spoke too soon..." bit, then what do you sing-a-long too?
In my opinion, it's one of Noel's best melodies of the last few years. Definitely better than any melody on DOYS, and I'd say better than any melody on DBTT. Which is a lot of work that I think it's better than. Just my opinion though.

I have to say I sumwhat agree. I didnt rate it that great and a bit bland based just on the soundcheck..
But at the end of the day its a snippet of a very poor qaulity soundcheck, which means that no1 should judge it good or bad. I think it will turn out to be a great song.

i can't quite put my finger on what i don't like about it in its current form. The melody just doesn't stand out to me. Like i said maybe when i hear it in its entirety i'll change my mind.
A melody that stands out to me is like that from Record Machine, that has all the makings of an epic song. Just the way the melody compliments the chord progression. For me that is a good old stadium anthem.

The whole album isn't going to be just stadium anthems and if it were it'd be super boring. But if the references to it being the same type of song as Wonderwall have any basis it very well could be. Wonderwall was a massive singalong.
I wouldn't have minded Noel releasing a few more tender odes to love on Oasis albums. I just hope it's as good as we want it to be.
I loved the soundcheck. I'm very excited about this tune. More excited about WAL...but I'll take what I can get.

That melody just screams classic. Plus I wish I wrote "Forgive me if I spoke too soon, My eyes will only follow you around the room". That line alone would have any guy fighting off bitches.
