Didn't TSOL go #2? None of the singles from DM went to #1, I remember hearing that after Roll With It went to #2, there became an intense obsession for every band in that era to hit #1. In all honesty, #15 is fine. It's far better than Oasis did with their debut and even BDI. Well I was referring more to the golden years. Morning Glory on and such. TSOL was alarming because it was the first debut single off a post DM album of theirs that did not go to #1. Some Might say, D'You Know What I Mean?, Go Let It Out, The Hindu Times, and Lyla all went #1. I consider TSOL a better song than half of those. The rest of the single off DOYS only did worse and Beady and Noel's solo career are not doing any better. The business model is broken that is all I am saying. Name won't work alone anymore and it doesn't matter how good a song is these days. TSOTL was probably their most sophisticated and strongest 2000s single, but it's not a song that's as instantly cactchy for general music fans as say 'Lyla' or 'The Hindu Times' was. Also with the majority of the Oasis fan base getting older (out of the single buyers demographic), the fact that DOYS singles didn't offer much in the way of b-sides and how readily available the whole album was on the internet it's remarkable that TSOTL still managed to go top five at all.
