wouldn't be surprised if management told them to shelve it due to Noely Poly being there main drive at the time, Noely kind of alluded to the fact they were taking it in turns

If a band wants to release an EP, they should just be able to release it for god sake.

I'm wondering if maybe it wasn't a stand-alone single. That would make the most sense.
Liam and co. had mentioned wanting to do some at the beginning of their promo.
Maybe they were planning on releasing something for Christmas?
I doubt it was put off for Noel. But it is possible. I think it's more likely that between the tour before Christmas, recording after Christmas plus I'm sure they are still finishing writing stuff. And that film he's making and soundtracking. There must not be a lot of time to do sufficient promo to make it worth it.
It's not like Noel is going to be releasing constant singles. There will be a 2-3 months between them presumably. He'll probably release a single right before the album then the next one probably won't be until the beginning of next year.
I think the management just don't want them to be hitting the shelves together. They don't want it to be a battle for the middle of the chart...that would be so sad and pathetic. At least with Blur they were battling to the #1 spot. But really...TBGO was released just over a month before TDOYAM. Unless Noel is planning on releasing a single a month I doubt that there will be an issue with BDI releasing a standalone single before going into the studio to record the 2nd album.

That film soundtrack might be getting in the way.

I'm sure you would all complain if Beady Eye went all JLS and released a new single every two months, so stop fucking complaining, yeah? Good things come to those that wait...

Does it annoy anyone else that every word is captialised in that story. It is driving me bonkers!

No point wasting good material on an EP that most people would gloss over. Should just stick it on to the next album if it's good enough.

wouldn't be surprised if management told them to shelve it due to Noely Poly being there main drive at the time, Noely kind of alluded to the fact they were taking it in turns They should make a management change, it's ridiculous that they are taking turns. If a band wants to release an EP, they should just be able to release it for god sake. That's such a silly, naive attitude. A magazine that puts Noel Gallagher on the cover will not give much coverage to Beady Eye in that same issue. Why? Anyone who wants to know what former members of Oasis are up to has already bought it anyway, so it would make little sense to write a Beady Eye article. It also helps steer the band away from more direct comparisons, and let's face it...if they made it a battle, the world would side with Noel. EPs are an interesting thing in the recording industry right now. With the decline of the album and the rise of the single, a lot of bands are discussing exploring this middle-ground area. I've heard Down are gonna do a trilogy of EPs, there's rumblings of a Motley Crue EP, Def Leppard are planning an EP. Classic Rock Magazine has started giving away free full EPs regularly with each issue. I know lots of these things are only in planning stages, I suspect the Beady Eye stuff was too and decisions on this sort of thing are still being made as the industry makes up its mind on how this EP thing is gonna play out (and if they're gonna jump and do it or not). The other reason sharing management is a good idea is they'll have continued dealings as the two men in charge of Oasis. Both men's solo careers were delayed by the release of Time Flies (Noel said he wasn't working on his when we all knew he was, Liam baffled us by insisting it'd be out imminently then making us wait ages when it was clearly ready), but commercially that made sense, as Time Flies cost far less money to make, and has sold around 1.2 million copies worldwide I would guess (excluding sales of the DVD, which no doubt are substantial too). Both men will continue to have dealings with each other via Oasis, which will continue to earn them more revenue than their current works ever will. There will be a box set at some point, there will be archival live releases, all sorts. Always happens.

Totally agree, be utterly stupid to release it whatever is out at the time or near to Noel. Stupid. Bands often find a decent date to release their albums/singles in the hope it'll get to number 1.
Its sensible to wait for the hype of Noels album to go quiet and then release album number 2. Would love to hear some new Beady Eye songs (will help sell tickets for the latest tour) but i just hope album #2 will be good.
But Beady Eye also have to release cd singles which will 'slightly' help sales, as people mention Oasis fans love to buy this sort of stuff for their collections. Noels doing it the right way, Beady Eye were stupid not to do cd singles.

I'd imagine the band were getting carried away, thinking they've got some great new tunes. But management said, no that's stupid keep them for the album.
