George Harrison was definitely the man. Very excited to see this HBO special. I expect only the best.

Would like to see this for sure, but the "best Beatle" stuff is a load of nonsense. He was third-best and there's no shame in that. Anyone would be third-best in a band with John and Paul.

I agree he wasn't the best songwriter when he was in the Beatles, but definitely my favourite. John probably came off as the worst character because he acted like a complete knob at times, and besides, Paul was the best songwriter in the band. P.S. All Things Must Pass is easily the best post Beatles album.

All Things Must Pass is easily the best post Beatles album. I don't know about that. Plastic Ono Band and Imagine are pretty awesome too. To me All Things Must Pass is a little too overblown. A lot of those songs I never listen to. If he boiled it down to the essentials it would be amazing. 1. My Sweet Lord 2. Wah-Wah 3. Isn't It A Pity 4. What Is Life 5. Behind That Locked Door 6. Apple Scruffs 7. Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll) 8. Awaiting On You All 9. All Things Must Pass 10. I Dig Love Now that is an amazing tracklisting. All killer. No filler.

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band might have something to say about that.

I think All Things Must Pass, Plastic Ono Band (John's best album in my opinion) and Band On The Run are all very close in terms of quality.
But I would probably choose All Things Must Pass and Band On The Run over John's effort as it sounds as if George and Paul are having a bit more fun than John, whose album is very dark at times. Don' get me wrong, I love Mother and various other tracks but tunes like I Found Out - while very rocky and fun - seem to be having digs at George's faith and such, and that sort of bitterness takes the shine of some of his work.
