Thanks Bellboy. I haven't heard his new single yet. How about you?
and idledreamer, I doubt if it'll be similar to "Wake Up The Nation" cos as being a long-term huge Weller fan I can say he'll try something else (again).
He'll be on the road when the album is out. I've never seen him so often like past years. Great to see him powerful than ever.

I don't like the new single (Starlight?)... It's like a pop tune. Made me feel a bit sick for some reason... As much as I love Weller, I won't be rushing to buy it if there are tracks like that on the album

I really dig the new tune; it dials back the experimentation of the last album, but it still sounds pretty modern.

Starlite isn't on the album as it "didn't fit with the rest of it". To be honest not really enjoyed Weller's recent work, will definitely have to preview this before I even consider buying it

The man never stops. A prime example to show that talent does not seep away at middle age.

Interesting but no surprise that Noel is involved and I got a little bit tired of Weller in the last years...

How can you grow tired of Weller when his past two albums have been some of his most inventive work since late Jam and early Style Council?

How can you grow tired of Weller when his past two albums have been some of his most inventive work since late Jam and early Style Council? Top post! Weller's last two albums have been pretty good and even if you didn't like them you can appriciate how much he's moving on. No more like Illumination please.

I have Wake up the Nation and Wild Wood. I haven't really followed him as a solo artist, but I really do love The Jam.

Off-topic.
Mr. Weller just got a boy twins last week. Now he has 7 children...

Pretty sure I read he hated the whole glam thing when he was growing up? Yet he recently went on stage with Stereophonics to play Get It On by T. Rex and now naming his son after David Bowie (i presume), must've had a change of heart

To be fair, Bowie is much more than just glam rock. Plus it's pretty hard to not enjoy Ziggy and T-Rex!

I dont like the single at the moment, but that may change entirely once I hear the whole album. I listened to Noel's album the first time and, surprisingly, thought it was terrible, but listened again and had entirely different thoughts. Context is key
