a doctors note doesn't mean anything, it'll stand in court but doesn't mean Liam wasn't drunk.
i got a doctor's note the other day for painkillers which i sold, doctor's note.........amateur hour.

I couldn't help but notice that he didn't say "I am sorry for having made the comment" Only that he was sorry if his opinion offended Liam.
I getting the impression that Noel isn't sold on the idea of Liam having an unavoidable case of laryngitis.
He still hasn't said that he believes that Liam cancelled only for laryngitis. He said that Liam had been diagnosed with laryngitis and did have a note.
I don't think Liam is going to be satisfied.

I think Noel has realised that it's not going to reflect well on either of them and just wants to kill it off, which is for the best and fair enough. Liam is too reactionary and emotional to just "let it go" so it was always going to fall on Noel to play the bigger brother.
He clearly thinks the laryngitis was brought on by the drinking the night before but realises theres a pretty big difference between that and missing it "because he had a hangover".
Best for all parties, time to let the music do the talking.

Didn't Noel say that he and Liam have never apoligised to one another about anything?

Honestly, I never really felt like Noel blatantly dimissed the laryngitis to begin with, but more of the nature of Liam and how it (laryngitis) came about in the first place... and importantly, how boozing didn't seem to be a problem the night before or after.
A "doctors note" for a rock star?
Yeah, Keith Richards has a lot of them too.

They're saying completely different things. Liam hasn't denied any wrongdoings that might have led to his laryngitis, nor has Noel denied that Liam didn't have any laryngitis. Noel's focus is on Liam's careless manner while Liam's is on the condition itself. It can mean that they are misunderstanding each other, or that they are too hateful and childish to notice the difference, because the two stories combine rather than to collide.
