I'm getting goose pimples waiting for this album. From what I've heard of demos and the sound checks on you tube this could be the long awaited real successor to MG.
I have been huge oasis fan since DM when I lived in the UK. I've 'liked' every oasis album but not loved one since MG and TMP.
But this 'new' stuff ( ok some of it held back from other oasis sessions) is just blowing me away. And that's just demos and poorly recorded sound checks.
Oasis's early stuff, especially some b sides, just moved me to tears and the same is happening with this new stuff!!
Wow, if I had a gun is just exceptional. It should be another wonderwall, in fact I think it could be even better.
I'm just in rapture.
I played it to some other people and they are so taken by it.
And that instrumental to Everbody's on the run. Again blown away.
And stop the clocks, just can't wait until October 17th..
New singles ok but doesn't do it for me like I think the rest of the album will do.
I wanted to like Beady Eye, yes it's alright I suppose.

There's a great quote from Noel in The Sun. He says everyone wants to comeback with a bang, why not comeback with a whisper instead? Hence the release of very good The Death of You and Me. I think he wants to slowly build up steam and then hit us with the truly amazing stuff.
Lord knows the demos and soundchecks have potential. Judging from the choir and strings on EOTR, that potential may well be filled.

The only potential problem would be the overall consistency of the tracks throughout the album, which had severely hindered SOTSOG and DOYS from becoming a topnotch album with some weird a-side choices. Without that problem... well, the album would be a classic. Noel has the ability to do that.

We have another month minimum before a leak. Everyone remain calm. But it is imminent!
Blame the Interwebs!

Heard his webcast , hilarious..
He said it's the best collection of songs he's released in a long while( or words to that effect).
I think he knows this stuff is good.
I played the demo of iihag to my girlfriend and she said it was "lovely". She doesn't have Noel is god goggles like me so I think this is a good indication about the quality of this tune?
I'm even enjoying the demos of it by those kids . Its such an amazing tune, just can't get it out of my head.

Just proof yet again that Noel withheld from Oasis and was the sole contributor to it's demise.

Trying not to get my hopes up too high. But if this was an Oasis album, I would definitely expect it to be in the top half (kicking out either Be Here Now from the 4th spot).
I doubt a 'proper' sucessor though. Like Don't Believe the Truth. Solid, but not brilliant.
(As for Noel holding back the best songs...well, yeah. I'm being one of those misinformed vaginas on the forums he mentioned, but yeah, it seems like my narrow view of him) Man's a genius though

But that's not really saying much, because with every Oasis release, the new current album always seemed to be put in the Top 4. But I think this could be a consistent version of DOYS. Not in terms of sound, but in terms of quality. Which if that's the case, then we're in for a real treat.

I believe Noel's best days are behind him, based solely because he's older and wiser. He can't write songs about doing drugs and acting mental now because it wouldn't be true. He's a whole new songwriter with a different level of achievement. It's gonna be an incredible album though... Classic, guaranteed.

I have a feeling iihag will be huge, a worldwide hit. I know it's a love ballad but so was Wonderwall and if you look at it so are 99% of the really big tunes.
I admit from what I've heard of it it moves me like no song has done in years.
