Sounded fine when I listened to it on the laptop, but you're probably right (all Oasis records are - save SOTSOG maybe). That's why I'm only going to buy the vinyl copy of the album.
But first, I need to buy a record player - haven't had one for 15 years!

it is mastered way too loud. I agree - brickwalling seems an odd choice for a more laid-back, acoustic-driven track like TDOYAM. Dave Sardy's production is great but I think it would sound even better if the levels weren't maximised. That said, it could be that the vinyl version is less compressed than the CD and download, as with the reissues of the Oasis back catalogue. I think the song would really benefit from wider dynamic range, so as to give greater contrast between the verse and chorus. As it is, the average level of the track is pushed so high that there can't be much difference in level between them. The same goes for the new RHCP single The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, which was produced by Rick Rubin and mastered by Vlado "These go to 11" Meller. I wonder who mastered TDOYAM and how involved Noel is with the mastering?
