Hi all. I've had a great laugh lurking about since someone told me my 'Instant Roller' thing had been posted here and was picking up some love, so big thanks to everyone who liked it (It's here if you don't know what I'm on about): soundcloud.com/rpm-artists/idc-instant-rollerAnyway, in the interests of fairness and balance I've been having some 'b' side fun with Noel's newie. Again it's all pretty obvious stuff but might raise a smile... check out The Good Rain if you get the chance : www.idcmusic.com/player.htmlhope this isn't too ego-centric as a first post! cheers David

Very good, man. Actually, it's not that obvious. I like the way you mixed parts of the songs instead of just overlaying one track on the other.

Thanks Eva, and thanks to everyone who's taken the time to have a listen and download That's me and me included I liked the first too, but I really felt the need to put this one on my iPod since, A) I'm trying to fill it so I can delete some of the shit I used to listen to B) I was really getting into it. It works, nice one. I saw IDC, and I assumed it was a corporation name, so I deleted that and renamed the artist as 'Moptopped Gallaghers' in case I ever felt the need to put Instant Roller up - and now that I look at your name I feel kind of stupid. If you'd like me to credit you as anything different, since it will be viewed by the immesuarable amount of people who look at my iPod, just tell me, I'd be glad to.

cheers IDC's been my musical moniker for a while, and meant to sound hugely international corporate! how about crediting it to 'IDC's High Flying Beatles'

These never work. Sounds horrible. The only way you'd create a tolerable mashup of these is if you had the multitracks.

the multitrack parts (or stems) are of course the Holy Grails, and with moggs from various sources floating about there's quite a lot of stuff to play with now. But then that gets a little too easy, too much like real remixing! A lot of the fun is the challenge of just putting together bits from finished tracks. It's a bit old skool but can be a laugh. and sure, sometimes the end result can be a bit 'demo' quality, but sometimes a little bit of magic happens too. And I reckon there's far too many great bootleg/mashup moments from the last ten years to just broadly say "these never work". cheers for taking the time to listen though man, appreciated It's coming up for 2,000 downloads in a week now!
