It really doesn't mean much. BDI are obsessed with their vinyls, but no one is buying anything else. I guess it is refreshing though to see so many "rock" acts selling well on vinyl though.

it does mean much. the average price of those 20,000 sales is £15. 20,000 vinyl album sales in the 80's (when no other formats were avaialble) would have been enough to guarantee a band being kep on by their label for the next record.
it's actually quite an achievement.

Again, these sort of niche charts are meaningless in the big picture. It doesn't prove BDI are popular. It just proves that out of the moderate number of BDI fans that are out there, a huge percentage love buying vinyl/collectors editions.
I suppose this is good because it proves that the hard core are loyal fans who will stick it out.

It's sickening that Radiohead are top of the list, it's probably the first time they've beaten the Gallaghers to anything.
As for Adele, it's disappointing - but perhaps a bit inevitable - that a commercial musician got so high; I have to admit, I thought all of her fans would download it straight from ITunes and forget the album, never mind vinyl!
I'm digging the Arctic Monkeys at the moment, now they're not trying to be obtuse and awkward little bastards. That album was much better than the shitty Humbug, and you can now see that they've influenced a lot of Sheffield bands - Dead Sons, The Tivoli, and a lot of other ones that I've forgotten.
Elbow - miserable bastards. That's all I'm saying about them. The less said, the better.
I'm not a fan of Fleet Foxes, or the raft of posh American student tits at the moment who think making twee folk music is 'awesome'. Until they start making proper, in your face rock'n'roll, they don't deserve to lick Liam's shoes.
As for Foo Fighters, I think they're a horrendous band; all they can do is OAP rock which screams of being purposely generic in order to hook in the ditzy masses who like to mosh to a catchy song, without really thinking of what the song is about. They remind me of Nickleback, and that's not a good thing.
Noah and the Wale, The Vaccines and Mumford and Sons are all posh twats with names like Archie, Timothy, Spencer and Leonard. Although The Vaccines made a few good tunes, it's all lost under the cod-pyschological lyrics that they learnt at whatever college they went to at Oxford University. I listened to the other two bands, and within 30 seconds I fell asleep. I didn't think I would say this, but Mumford and Sons are quite dangerous: especially when driving a car.
