I just watched that webcast thing that someone kindly posted. I think Noels opinion about the V-festival stuff was kind of exemplified by his comments in that about the MTV thing. About Liam going off and yelling and drinking the night before and them surprise surprise that he couldn't sing the next day.
Liam played the laryngitis thing like a medical issue that he had no control over. I think Noel is under the impression that it was self inflicted and giving it a medical name doesn't make it any less Liam's fault.
Noel never shoul have said it was just a hangover. That was a stupid thing for him to say.
But honestly when was Noel ever less than complementary about LAG. Noel was unfailingly positive about Andy and Gem publicly especially musically. Even Liam he was negative about personally but unfailingly positive about musically. He never even tacitly agreed with insults about Liam voice and always underplayed Liam's vocal failings live when they were @ their worst.
It seems a bit wrong that Andy is blaming Noel for the world having low expectations of BDI.
The reason the world had low expectations was that Noel had written Oasis' most popular and most critically lauded material. It wasn't Noel spinning the media coverage.

I didn't get the impression that he was blaming Noel for spinning the press that way. Noel was silent in the press about Oasis/BDI until the press conference, long after BDI had already released their album. I got the impression he was just a little upset that people lacked confidence in them. I don't see him blaming Noel for that, unless he was pissed Noel wrote a bunch of classics and raised the bar too high.

Sounds very much like he is saying that the reason he thinks that people didn't have high expectations is because Noel spread less than flattering opinions of the other band members when he did press for Oasis. Maybe it's just because the last interview I watched was that DBTT webcast. He heaps praise on everyone musically. Especially Andy's musical tastes and Liam's songwriting. The reason that people didn't expect much from LAG wasn't because Noel wasn't complimentary about them. It was because Noel was the one with the songwriting awards and the one that wrote their most popular and well received albums. That Andy would hypothesize that the reason for low expectations had more to do with Noel's press than the more logical, "Noel wrote their most famous songs" doesn't seem entirely logical

i like Andy, i've said that, he seems like a nice guy but he's about as interesting as the hangnail on my left index finger.

I'm pretty sure he has slated Liam musically as well personally. Other than LJ in latter years Noel has insulted and slated his own music far more vigorously than any of the other 3's. In fact...other than LJ I can't remember him ever insulting one of Liam, Andy, or Gem's songs.

Andy really needs a reality check, it's not like the press were hungry for an Andy interview, why would they be? Noel and Liam were, and are the charismatic ones, Andy (God bless him) is not. aloha!

I see what you're saying now, gd. I just didn't interpret it that way when I read it the first time. If that is the case and Andy does blame Noel then yeah, that's pretty bad and stupid. The only thing I recall Noel making fun of Andy for in the past was being a corpse on stage.
Oh well...the saga continues.

I think Andy was obviously a bit sore about the press conference where he didn't come off too well. I'll bet Liam and Andy had probably had a massive bitch-fest on the phone after watching the press conference. So he might have just still been a bit hot under the collar. I don't think I had ever heard Andy referred to as irate before.

I don't think it's possible for Andy to get mad, haha. p.s. - did lgfaver recruit his gang of super-friends to attack your karma?

And after all his complain about people artificially lowering his karma because he deserves +30 karma and actually had -30 he has taken it upon himself to artificially lower mine and LIB's. I honestly think he make have been that moronic karma adjuster a few months ago. Seems the type and obviously has the will

He doesn't really say anything new here, unfortunately. The interesting point for me is the only thing Liam/Andy have denied is the Pretty Green argument. They haven't refuted the violence of the final fight or any of that. And if they'd actually read or listened to all of what Noel said, they would realize he claims the big fight was over Liam missing the VFest gig, not PG ads. It doesn't help your case much when you only defend part of it, and not even the most important part. Not saying Noel is 100% correct or whatever. When he tells a story we only hear his side and we haven't actually heard a descriptive account from the other side yet so no one really knows. It's odd to me that Andy wouldn't stand up for himself and defend his own actions during "the fight" though. He had an opportunity to clear things up and he wimped out. Giving your account of a situation and qualifying it with "This is how I saw it..." is not adding fuel to the fire, it's just being honest. BUT, if he is trying to avoid any and all press back-and-forth, then I can understand why he did that. To be fair, they aren't refuting the violence because its well established that it did actually occur. It is the context and the build up that they are disputing. For example, Noel's version is that Liam made unreasonable demands throughout the tour, Noel - the man of honour and integrity that he is - refused to allow Liam to advertise because he had the fans interests at heart, Liam screamed and insulted Noel in Paris then attacked him without provocation. Of course, reading between the lines from Liam and Andy's comments you could also say that the Pretty Green arguments are fabricated, Noel was aloof and constantly put them down and rubbished their opinions, he was controlling and manipulated the press to suit his own interests rather than the band, and that Liam finally snapped after 12 months of provocation. We don't know what, if anything, Noel said to Liam during the argument, either. Liam isn't such the psychopath monster and Noel isn't whiter than white now, is he? I am not saying that was the case, or that that is my opinion. But that is the point, none of us know what actually happened, we're never likely to know, and we can only piece together both stories at face value. It really annoys me that Noel's word is taken as gospel because he mentions selective facts from one night, but Liam and Andy are rubbished because they talk about the bigger picture. Again, I am not in any way implying this is the case, but if a child resorts to violence after a long period of bullying, is the child 100% to blame, the bullies, or a combination of both? Again, I am NOT comparing Liam to a child bully victim, nor am I comparing Noel to a bully.

So true... Andy's my favorite member of former Oasis so I don't really get this whole fascination for Noel here. He's human, or at least have become one after SOTSOG. I thought I'd heard everything on this forum. Well done.

Andy didn't actually say that there had never been an argument about PG. Just that the argument that night didn't have anything to do with PG. But that is a moot distiction since Noel never said that that night was an argument about PG.
He said the tensions started @ the beginning of the tour about PG advertising in the tour packet. He said that the argument in Paris started out with Liam yelling @ Noel about the negative press surrounding Liam about them having to cancel the V-festival.
Interesting that he said there were "three of us in that room."
Noel made it seem like there were more people there.

Andy Bell is a boring, useless c*nt who brought little-to-nothing to the band.
Its hilarious that people would support him over Noel Gallagher, the creative force behind Oasis.

Since we don't have video of the incident, we can only piece together the parts we have. Both brothers are at fault as you can't really have a fight with only 1 person. I'm sure Noel said some things Liam didn't like. I hope no one thinks he's innocent. They both can only take so much of each other. Noel's recent comments about a reunion leads me to believe they'll get back together eventually. How soon it happens will depend on Beady Eye's 2nd album.

Just because Andy brought less to Oasis than Noel doesn't mean I should believe Noel over Andy. It has nothing to do with who we're "supporting," I support both of them, I just don't think Noel is telling it like it is.

I've held back comment on this thread all day, but now it is time to speak my little piece of commentary:
If Andy has such a problem with Noel taking the lead in the press, then he should have gotten off his lazy ass and spoke up while Oasis was still around. Do something FFS! It bugs me that after the fact he comes out and says that he resents the fact that the press is pro-Noel over BDI. Well, no shit? No one else in the band ever gave the press any reason to think otherwise, did they? It's ridiculous.
On a more calm note, Andy comes across as an ungrateful vagina. Noel invited him into the band after the departure of Bonehead and Guigsy, and this is how he chooses to remember his time in the best band on the planet. What a tool!
Cheers!

Oh dear, you really do live in a world where Noel gallagher is a God amongst men. You might consider that Noel, while saying he was the only one doing the press was the one who wanted to do the press. I mean lets face it he's never quiet for long is he. Theres nothing wrong with that, he's likes a chat. Andy imo was saying that Noel in doing the majority of the press, the readers/fans only saw his opinion and slant on it. He is a media darling and uses the press for his own purposes just as they use him. He's quite cosy with them and has been for ages. I don't think Andy really said anything shocking at all and I don't believe for a second he was saying that Noel was the reason the press thought BDI would be shit. He's always said what a great time he had in Oasis and said a similar thing again here about it mostly being good. You simply read the bits that fit with your opinion and then rage about the thing you interpret as insulting your leader.
