surely quite a few must have gone out? there was a DOYAM cd on ebay as well, yet no decent flacs/320 mp3s to be found anywhere yet *not on this forum obviously and I'm not promoting downloading in general of course*  |

Those selected previews that a few journalists have written about have probably been in the presence of an official rep who takes the copy with themselves.

The new Jay Z an Kanye West album didn't leak at all. I think we're going to start seeing major music releases leak less and less.

For a moment I thought this would actually be a "How come the album hasn't leaked yet???" thread ;D Actually, I wouldn't mind at all if I first heard the album the moment I put my copy in my CD player...

as always i'll buy the album whether i get the leak or not but it would be nice to test my patience to see if i can actually wait until release date

The new Jay Z an Kanye West album didn't leak at all. I think we're going to start seeing major music releases leak less and less. Jay-z album was only made available through downloads. The physical copy is released this friday (UK). it's a tactic the record label has done to prevent any cd's being leaked. They basically are putting off the physical version as late as they can. |

That's because it initially has iTunes exclusivity, meaning there are no leaks when CDs are shipped. Every major album still leaks, but remarkably the new much-hyped Lady Gaga album didn't until only a week before it was released. |

Music industry must change the process.
Delivering the single two weeks after the announce of the album, and then sell the album 2 weeks after. October 17 is (IMO) too long.

Its highly possible it leaks that way. DOYS leaked from a promotional disc. Beady Eye first leaked from a promotional stream. It can happen at any time. Now obviously would be early, but not impossible. It's far too early to be asking why hasn't it leaked yet. You can ask that question when it gets to about 2 weeks from release....not with over 2 months to go. DGSS leaked like 9 days before release or something. DOYS was pretty much the same. |

Every major album still leaks, but remarkably the new much-hyped Lady Gaga album didn't until only a week before it was released. Didn't she leak it herself though? I could have sworn she kept posting the songs on her FB/Twitter??? And I think no leaks are better... And I hate the fact that some countries get albums earlier than others. All countries should have a same day release... I can never trust myself not to listen to the album uploaded by someone who got the album earlier than UK release... |

I believe the thread is asking about why the 4 track promos haven't leaked not why the album hasn't leaked. We know those are out there already. |

But they shouldn't be leaking anyway since they are watermarked etc.
I personally think it would be very unusual if a 4 track promo leaked. It's just something you don't see happening too often.
