I was wondering is TGR & other of Noel's b-sides self produced like Beady Eye or has Dave Sardy polished them up?

Im guessing TGR is just the demo that's been knocking about for ages and never was re recorded. It's damn good though!

So you assume he played all the instruments?

Does The Good Rebel reallly sound like it's been properly produced? I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a demo.

A really well produced demo, but a demo nonetheless.

I think it might have been something lying around recorded in the HC era. He might have had to go back that far to find something Gem wasn't on the recording of. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a demo recording just dusted off. Something that he had lying around like TSBH...but better.
Maybe between the 2 albums he didn't want or didn't have time to do a full studio recording particularly since this wasn't actually suppose to be a single originally. We have no idea when they decided to change that. It could have been before shooting the video or after shooting the video.
I hope the next b-side is a bit fresher.

That's definitely not Noel playing the drums. Unless Noel came a long from the SOTSOG demos.
Maybe it was recorded in Wellers studio where he did the original demos.

Actually Alan White and Noel weren't on the best of terms around SOTSOG, because Noel was using more and more drum loops in his songs.

I like the production on TGR. Especially the guitar sound.

Too produced to be a demo. Maybe self produced but not a demo.

I was thinking more like an adaptation of a demo. Like TIOBI was.

Wasn't it? I remember hearing something about it being something that they couldn't replicate when they tried to redo it with Sardy. They just fiddled a bit with the demo because they couldn't make it sound eny better than what they had originally been captured on the demo.
Am I confusing it with another song? I am almost postive it was TIOBI.

No, gd is right. Noel has said in a few intereview that TIOBI is essentially the demo version.

I'm too lazy to find the interview. He's goes through the songs and where they came from. I think the question was something about which songs had made it from the Death in Vegas sessions and he said that they tried to rerecord TIOBI during the session and it didn't sound as good so they tweaked and added to the demo. As in it's modified but Noel said it was a version they made on their own in Wheelers End.
He specifically said that it was one that the band did on their own with no outside help and it was special to him for that reason and they didn't redo it with Sardy.
Anyone remember which interview that one was?
He may have been lying. But he has said it.

It is almost certain that the TIOBI acoustic demo released on the DVD was recorded after the fact (see Mr. Monobrow's demo information page.)
The album version was recorded in Noel's studio prior to the LA sessions with Sardy for DBTT. It wasn't re-recorded in LA, so it is essentially the real "demo" that made it onto the album (with only minor overdubs and re-mixing by Sardy in LA).

I find it interesting if TIOBI really was from a demo, considering that's the best sounding song from DBTT. Interesting if that has no Sardy influence when I've been giving him credit for it this entire time.

Yeah, Oasis did that one without Sardy.
