The organisers of Soundwave Revolution have pulled the plug on the festival after the pull-out of the second-biggest headliner, which had not even been announced yet. Promoter AJ Maddah said he preferred the option of cancelling the event, due to hit Perth in October, rather than putting "an inferior product on the market". He was forced into a hurried announcement after Steel Panther drummer Stix Zadania spilt the beans via Twitter. While the Revolution is no more, there might be sideshows for some of the acts due to tour with the national festival. The line-up featured Van Halen, Hole, Alice Cooper, the Used, Danzig and Machine Head. Maddah said that Soundwave 2012 will go ahead in February. Details for refunds should be released soon. au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/breaking/10004206/soundwave-cancelled/ At least I'm going to Blind Guardian instead.

This really sucks, especially since there has been a lot of stuff in the news lately about the viability of festivals and how they might not exist at all in ten years. Not good for the music industry. We need these things to keep up and running or else the biggest artists on the globe won't come here anymore

Yeah I hope he doesn't mean that. If Glastonbury goes, then the concept of the music festival goes with it.
