I would have also loved to see a good Replacements show. I saw them three times. It's hit or miss with them, depending on their attitude that night. If you happened to see them on a bad one, you're better off remembering them on CD.

I would've loved to have seen XTC before Andy Partridge suffered from stagefright and stopped touring. And if only Bon Scott didn't die - an old school AC/DC show would have rocked.
Other bands that I missed during my 80s/90s-going concert days:
Midnight Oil INXS
Hmmm, that's about all I can think of. I left off the obvious Beatles, Who, Jam, etc. because they all played before I was old enough to go to shows.

I did see a Replacements tribute concert this past November. They played the entirety of Tim as well as some other great stuff. It was a fantastic gig.

I have nothing bad to say about their albums, from LIB up until ASD (I wasn't a fan of the early hardcore ones), but I caught one of their last shows in Nashua, NH, backing Elvis Costello. It was an outdoor show, the opening night for this place, and they were just downright terrible. They didn't even play "I'll Be You," which was their biggest radio hit in the USA. On that note, the band was in the midst of imploding, so there's a good chance they didn't even wanna be there. Great band for its time though. I hated to see them break up when they did. I always felt they had another good album or two in them.

I love at the end of "The Ledge," their song about a teenage suicide as told by the singer, Westerburg screams "The le-e-e-eddggge" as if he's made the decision to go ahead and jump. Classic.

Well for me, the top two are undoubtedly The Smiths and The Beatles. You could throw a-ha in there aswell.
But I also totally agree with those who said they'd love to see Blur live (though I think they will play together again in the future).

It doesn't get much better than Westerberg's scream at the beginning of Bastards of Young.

Does Paul Westerberg still make music? i know some of the former Replacement members went on to totally different careers, like i think one own's a restaurant now, i might be making that up, i don't know.

There's several but the one I've been thinking of a lot lately is The Verve. It's such a great regret that I never saw them, l've loved them for some 14 years now, almost as long as Oasis. Here's still hoping though... sigh.
The one band I'm forever grateful of seeing(esp after reading other people's replies) is The Libertines in 2002 in their prime. That was a legendary gig.

The Killers are good live... But if you're in a "meh" mentality about it, you'll probably just wanna see them once, they're kinda samey each time. But I love them- so I enjoy myself each time... When I saw Katy Perry live, she literally kissed a girl... That was the only thing that made up for me missing Biffy Clyro for it... I got dragged away by my sister... i would actually subject myself to a Katy Perry show to see her topless. i shouldn't say that, i actually like one of her songs. but i still would rather see her topless. The Killers to me have around 6 good songs, and one is Mr Brightside. (Jenny wa a friend of mine has got to be the second). So, I like them, but even then, I can't imagine actually paying to see them. The thing with Katy Perry is, you literally are paying to see her. The day she goes topless is the day more girlfriends get dumped than when the next Call of Duty game comes out, more tissues get used than the day Princess Diana died, and more 'guy looks' are given than... real bro moments.

I don't mind the Killers. I wish they would stop making songs like human, and make more Jenny was a friend of mine. 's. More bands need to think so much of themselves that they decide "Hey, you know what this record needs? Some fucking helicopters bro! Helicopters are music on our fucking records, bitch!"

That is, arrogance, not cocaine.
