That video is shot right down the street from my house! It's not Los Angeles like it was being reported, it's Lake Los Angeles in the Lancaster area of L.A. county. i wish I knew. Seriously, Noel Gallagher was right down the fucking street from me!

Noel is ace in this video. He just looks so cool. :-) , we know how it pains him to endure videos so he's obviously tried his hardest here. Still looks so fucking cool at 43.

Was anyone else kind of worried about the first line of the song until you heard Noel sing it? That voice fixes many things.

Unlike Liam's voice, Noel's just seems to get better and better...

I'll ask again, am I the only one on this forum who was a bit disappointed after hearing this? It's a rather large departure from the style of music that brought me into Oasis in the first place back in '95. Had I heard this the moment after listening to "Don't Look Back in Anger" for the first time, I'd of thought "interesting b-side" and likely skipped over it there on after, much to the way I do "Going Nowhere". Yes, Noel may shock a few listeners with this new Bacharach-esque tune and bring in a few new gray-haired fans (don't kid yourself, kids aren't going to buy this one, it doesn't have that "punch"), but upon first couple listens I don't think I'll be blaring this one from my car or bedroom window like I did "Bring The Light". What we have here is a song I'll be skipping over on the album. Poor first single choice, in my opinion.

I'm singing along already...that didn't happen on the third listen of any of the BDI tunes.

I love that acoustic riff in the begining (sounds like an Am9 E), that and the brass are the best parts. Then the chorus!

I'm a young guy and I'll be buying this for sure...and I think the chorus is massive. My 2 cents of course, don't mean to offend your viewpoint..

Absolutely love the song!! Didn't take long before he mentioned sunshine though, but that's classic Noel When it comes to the album artwork...it's a fuckin disgrace, isn't it? Would've been a better cover with a picture of my grandma, and she doesn't look to well..

In two weeks time, once the "OMGz, NOEL IS BACK!!@$(@($@!@! AMAZING TUNE!!!" cloud 9 euphoria dissipates, I'm sure I won't be alone in my opinion that this song is just "okay".

Considering 1995 was, well, 1995 no I'm not disappointed at all. If you expected an Oasis ballad, you've got plenty of them by a band called Oasis.
If The Importance of Being Idle was a hit, then why can't this tune be? The similarities are obvious. TIOBI is 1 out of three Oasis songs that are constantly in their top 15 most listened to on Last.fm and was a #1.
And blaring Bring The Light out the window must go under some form of public nuisance.

The blonde is sexy. I would like to know Let It Bleed or Bonkers' opinion on her (don't remember which loved blondes). I mean we all love blondes but they take it to a new level. I should show them my sister.

in all honesty, i like this song a lot and not just because it's brand new. it's a nice little pop tune. i'll be disappointed if EVERY song on the album was like this though. i'm expecting something really good for the next single.

Admit it lol, not yet. Will check back in 2 weeks to see if my initial disappointment has faded. And by all means, I'm not here to offend or kick people back a few notches after a very exciting release. At the end of the day, I'm just sharing my opinion. "The Importance of Being Idle" excited a lot of people. I may very well be in the small minority who never really had a thing for that song, which could be why TDOYAM isn't doing much for me at the moment.
