Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has just announced details of his first album since the split with brother Liam in 2009. Noel Gallagher And The High Flying Birds will release a self-titled album on October 17th - the first of two albums already in the can, according to the guitarist, who is speaking at a press conference in London. The albums were recorded in London and LA. Very interestingly as far as we're concerned, the second LP is a collaboration with the deeply cosmic Amorphous Androgynous. Read John Tatlock's great piece from 2009 on why they pointed the way forward for Noel Gallagher's creativity here. Doing Oasis songs during the gigs? Will that be wise? Maybe he should have dropped them from the first tour

Too late mate. He's said he will do them. I think it's a mistake too
I just hope we get to hear most of the new stuff. Drove me nuts that there are so many Oasis songs that never got aired live

If this happens, I will be thoroughly pissed. Just saying. You're pissed to be getting 2 albums instead of one? ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/1258801/images/7QKGdm487eYnX65W8w0g.gif)

I've said this before. I don't mind him playing Oasis tracks. As long as its not more than a couple. If it's like 3 or 4, then I think that it will be a mistake. But a couple wouldn't me a mistake in my opinion.

Quite possibly four albums from the Gallagher brothers in two years. This is heaven.

I don't see a problem with him playing Oasis tracks he wrote. Even if that was half of what he performed I'd be very satisfied! As for the albums, I will be sparse in my comments until I sit down and listen to them!!
