Hey! I had a little conversation with a friend of mine about the upcoming NG tracks. Both of us are huge LastFM "fans". Scrobbling is a big part of our lives Now, the problem is: Should I scrobble the tracks with "Noel Gallagher" as the artist or "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds"? Wikipedia says the artist is Noel Gallagher and "High Flying Birds" is only the name of the album. Which imo is wrong (?!). Anyways: Those of you who are on lastfm as well: Will you scrobble the tracks as NG or NG's HFB? Because me personally - I'd rather have all my NG tracks together and not some 'Noel Gallagher', 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', 'Noel Gallagher ft. The Amorphous Androgynous' or whatever. - you know what I mean. It's not THAT important as long as the tracks are awesome (which they damn sure will be), but yeah... what do you think?

"Noel Gallagher" is the artist. "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" is the name of the project.
I'd file it under the latter.

I've often wondered this too, man. There's an interview on Noel's website which answers our question;
Sour Mash: For your record you are billed as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, but your website is just NoelGallagher.com. Is there a difference between the two?
Noel: Nope. They're one and the same. NGHFB is the name of my current musical adventure. NG.com is well... an umbrella... ella... ella!!
I think the High Flying Birds will be to Noel what say The E Street Band are like to Bruce Springsteen; a live backing band that he will often collaborate with. But of course, he is a solo artist in his own right and I wouldn't be suprised if he released an album under just his own name at some point in the future.

I'd put it as just Noel Gallagher. I'm sure his full band name will change depending on the project. The next album might well just be 'Noel Gallagher and The AA' and not have the HFBs involved at all

The Death of You and Me artwork has 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' on it.
There is your answer.

As we'll get two albums by Noel and only one has the HFB involved, I'd say just Noel Gallagher. I mean, the album title High Flying Birds should be enough. Technically, the HFB and AA albums are different bands.

I don't know. I think Noel might continue with this name through his solo career.
The High Flying Birds aren't a band...they are a construct. After all, apart from the drummer, the High Flying Birds on the album are entirely different from the HFB that are going to be touring.
Noel said that the HFB are who ever is around @ that point...so the musicians and AA could conceivably be under the umbrella HFB. But we still don't know the dynamic of that project maybe it'll be a double billing. Maybe it'll be featuring the AA. Maybe they'll just be listed in a production capacity. Maybe they'll tour it together. Maybe Noel will tour it with a different set of musicians as the HFB...

It will probably be used in the same way Neil Young uses Crazy Horse

I'd go for NG's HFB the same way I went for Paul McCartney and Wings
