OK, I have been thinking about BDI's future... Their next album's tour will incorporate, obviously, their new album's tracks. Does this mean that some of their current stuff will be dropped? What I am wondering is, how many tracks do you think can/will/should/etc be dropped from their setlist? I have it in mind that their next album will be great. My reasons being because A) they are all good song writers B) They have said that their first album was 'a debut' suggesting that more experimental, expansive / better songs will be released (E.G. ITBWAB / WOMR). This is exciting! SO, to recap, what songs can/should be dropped. All very hypothetical i know

Their current set has 16 songs. When they start playing songs of the new album I can see them dropping Wind Up Dream, For Anyone, Standing On The Edge Of The Noise, Millionaire, Beatles and Stones and Two of a Kind. Don't know if they will indeed keep playing all the other ones but I hope The Roller, Bring The Light, Kill For A Dream, Wigwam and The Morning Son stay in the set.

I doubt they would drop Millionaire considering it was their 2nd single. B&S is also too good live to be dropped IMO

Agreed about Millionaire. I love Beatles and Stones on the album but not so much live.

It depends how long the setlist is, but I imagine Four Letter Word, Millionaire, The Roller, Bring The Light, Kill For A Dream, The Beat Goes On, Wigwam and The Morning Son will definitely be retained.
Then on top of that I'd say Beatles and Stones, Man of Misery and Sons of the Stage will probably be retained, unless they have an album full of brilliant live songs, which is unlikely.
Add in 8-9 new songs and that takes it up to 19-20 songs, which sounds about right.
That means cutting Two of a Kind, For Anyone, Wind Up Dream, Three Ring Circus and Standing on the Edge of the Noise. Three out of those five were cut for the festival setlist anyway which is a good indication imo.

Wind Up Dream & Two of a kind are guaranteed to be dropped, I'd imagine man of misery, soteotn and maybe millionaire are possible.

I wouldnt drop SOTEOTN, that's ace live. Wind Up Dream & Two Of A Kind are certainties to go. For Anyone may appear here and there but for the most part be gone. A couple more may go too but its too hard to say as we dont know what is yet to come. I'd keep more from DGSS though otherwise nobody becomes familiar with the songs.
I also think they will be very flexible so they may have 6 songs from DGSS (Four Letter Word Millionaire, The Roller, Bring The Light, Wigwam and The Morning Son) and then 6 from the new record that make up the core of the set. Then add a cover and interchange another 5 or 6 from the rest of their catalogue which would bring it to about 20.

For Anyone must be dropped for sure.. Other than that, Man of Misery (but probably Liam would want to keep this for the Pretty Greeners..) and Wind Up Dream should be dropped.. And maybe either Beatles & Stones or Two Of A Kind, but both work quite good live.. As long as Wigwam & The Morning Son stay in the set I'll be happy

why do you hope they dont play their oasis songs ? Why would you hope they would? Would just further confirm them as Oasis without Noel.

I hope they drop Millionaire. Sounds very lame and boring live, better on the album. Don't sure if they gonna drop it though. Wind Up Dream, Kill For A Dream and For Anyone are the ones that I think they're going to take off the set.

because they wrote good songs, and they are ditching them to play new songs, which is fine but i want to go to a live show and hear songs they wrote before. its not to much to ask

I used to think Millionaire seemed very boring live judging from Youtube but it works really well when you are actually there. People seemed to enjoy it alot aswell, I don't think they will drop it.

I hope that, at some point before the new album is released or announced, they add WOMR and Bubble/Bullet to the setlist.
