Both swedens biggest newspaper are calling Beady Eye´s gig yesterday at Hulsfred a disaster. Telling them basically to quit music. The crowd was small aswell. No hit for Liam here. They gave the gig 1 out of 5. The funny thing is, they gave oasis last concert here 0 out of 5.

Don't listen to our music journalists. They are shite! They only trying to find something to complain about when Oasis, or in this case Beady Eye comes here. There you go, ToneBender: www.expressen.se/noje/musik/1.2499551/gallaghers-beady-eye-saknar-starka-latarbloggar.expressen.se/anders/2011/07/liams-uppgang-och-fall/Translate them in Google translate or something. The second article/blog is even worse. The one who wrote that wasn't even at the gig. And he's an idiot really. But, yeah the weather was awful and the festival "died" last year so I think they have a hard time to convince people to visit the festival this year. Even though, they have a great line up. In my opinion. And btw, the band played well according to a friend who was there. I couldn't go, cause I hadn't enough money. Sadly enough.

Yeah seriously, who gives a fuck about us? And that paper is the worst of the worst over here... Their music section sucks and they spend most of the year writing about the fuckin' Eurovision Song Contest and Lady Gagas clothing! One of their "journalists" even wrote a bad review of the Beatles Reissue a few years ago, saying that they were overrated and that the music hadn't aged well... That paper can fuck off in my opinion.
And the other paper... Well, Markus Larsson has hated Oasis since Be Here Now, would be crazy to think he would write a review that was even close to saying BE were allright...
Who gives a fuck...

A lot of people do give a fuck about Sweden, and things in the music scene there aren't as bad as here. Dozens of groups composed of dozens of tone-deaf Justin Biebers and tone-deaf girl Justin Biebers are completely seizing control over the music industry and creeping into the mass media, and Beady Eye currently sold about 20% of their total number of tickets to their September gig in an arena which can hold 4000 people.

You are talking about the Seoul gig, right? Thought they have always been pretty huge over there. Japanese gigs are all sold out, I think.

I was at the Hultsfred Festival and I gotta say it was alot better than the press says. The weather was awful but a couple of fans turned up and Liam was in a great mood, smiled alot and waved to fans in the front. They all put on a great show despite the weather and Liam sung better than I've heard him live in years. He was given a tshirt by a fan from the crowd and took a good look on it and put in on Chris drumkit.

They haven't got good critics here in Norway either, but at least they haven't been slaughtered. The two largest newspapers here gave them 3/6. Which is ok I guess. They both meant that apart from BTL it sounds like Oasis minus the good songwriter...

Before Primal Scream... (or during it? my rusty Swedish fails me and I can't tell by the blurry pic:p)

Before Primal Scream... (or during it? my rusty Swedish fails me and I can't tell by the blurry pic:p) I don't think you can get deduct from the text when the picture is taken (if that is what you are asking). It seems to be a "general context" picture, because the text describes how the whole Hultsfred festival is in dire straits, with probably less than 10,000 attendants. So, if Beady Eye got around 1,000 people to watch them that is not so bad... The gist of the articles is that Beady Eye is a bunch of has-beens, whereas Primal Scream give a great performance. The logic fails me since Beady Eye only play new material whereas Primal Scream's show consists purely of material released in 1991 (IIRC). So cannot really see the logic there... but most probably there isn't one, it is just the Swedish music press being very "trendy", quick to jump on any new bandwagon, but then also being very quick to dismiss bands as soon as they show any signs of faltering. With Oasis, the changes in attitude were very dramatic, since Swedish music press were very early champions of Oasis. For those who can read Swedish, here are couple of good articles on the band from Pop magazine from around 1994-95 popviminns.wordpress.com/2011/02/27/oasis-2/popviminns.wordpress.com/2010/01/16/du-skulle-varit-dar/popviminns.wordpress.com/2009/12/15/oasis/ BTW, why does it always seem to rain when Beady Eye is playing outdoors? Italy, Denmark, and now this...

I don't think you can get deduct from the text when the picture is taken (if that is what you are asking). The picture had this text under it: "Framför Primal Scream i natt: Folktomt och regnigt." I'm not sure is it "in front of" or "before". So cannot really see the logic there... but most probably there isn't one, it is just the Swedish music press being very "trendy", quick to jump on any new bandwagon, but then also being very quick to dismiss bands as soon as they show any signs of faltering. I suppose Primal Scream has more "indie press credibility" than Beady Eye. Saying this as a Primal Scream fan, not to diss them. For those who can read Swedish, here are couple of good articles on the band from Pop magazine from around 1994-95 Thanks! Will be good practise:D BTW, why does it always seem to rain when Beady Eye is playing outdoors? Italy, Denmark, and now this... I wish they'd played more tents... for smaller sized bands tents just create so much more atmosphere than playing early slot on main stage.
