after listening to that last liam interview for bbc radio I dont see another way for beady eye to get any bigger. we all know why they dont play any of the songs noel has written but it makes no sense not to play songbird or turn up the sun. they say its a new band with new songs. they want to show that they can start a new career without noel. but with gigs that only last about an hour and some really mediocre songs (like standing on the edge...) its impossible imo. they should at least mix in 3 or 4 of their songs then the quality of their gigs would be so much better. and in a way it shows that the oasis songs they have written arent as good as noels. they cant get rid of their past. they should be proud of it. this way you cant sell "oasis without noel" and liam gallagher to a new audience. If they wait til next year or even longer as liam said I think its too late. because their way of conquering the world a second time with bigger gigs step by step and releasing albums on a regular basis is excellent. any thoughts??

I think those Oasis songs would fit quite well into the set but they shouldn't.
As Liam said, plus you may get fans turning up for the odd Oasis song and not for Beady Eye

I don't see why they can't play those songs.

The show is good, but would be better with some of their oasis tunes.

Eyeball Tickler would sound great with Beady Eye. Just saying.

The show will be closer to the standard hour and a half set time on the next album tour. The reason it only lasts an hour at the moment is they only have an hour's worth of songs. I would hope that they avoid going down the oasis path and instead create a back catalogue of their own that people will pay to see.

It's alright saying they should play the oasis songs that noel didn't write but out of those how many does the casual oasis fan actually know? Songbird is the only one i reckon. So would playing turn up the sun or born on a different cloud get a festival singing along to every word? No. So whats the difference? Yes, we all know there are some great LAG songs but we are the same people who know DGSS and turn up for BDI.

What would be the point?
It's not as if they can roll out a song that would make everyone go mental and result in a massive DLBIA-style singalong.
The only song that would really be worth playing for those reasons is Songbird and maybe Im Outta Time.

The Boy With The Blues would be nice live.

It was a 75 minute set when I saw them at Webster Hall...They've got a 16 song setlist. Part of it is that they play a very efficient set. Oasis played 75 minute sets on their first tour. And that was with a 7 minute version of I Am The Walrus. Give it time. You'll have a 90 minute set by next summer/fall.

With a new album on the way, I'm assuming somewhat soon, it'd be kind of pointless. It would of made more sense to do this early on in the album cycle, to extend their live shows. I'd love to hear some of those tunes live, but I'd be cool with them sticking to Beady Eye tunes.

why is it the most normal thing in the world that noel is playing his songs? so why should beady eye not be playing their stuff, its not like a huge catalogue anyway, maybe ten nice songs to choose from. it should be no conversation about that, same way its for noel. I dont get it. whats the point in waiting a few years. most of the songs Im talking about have never been played live or just for 1 tour. now they could get their time to shine and I highly doubt the odd oasis fan would be turning up for boadc or boy with the blues. he is and always will be for liam gallagher. they are denying their past and it makes no sense or did noel write all of them, lol.
PS: then noel shouldnt be playing the liam sung songs too, imo he will ruin these classics with his whiny voice, like he did in 2006. but thats a different topic;)

Liam's too stubborn to be playing any oasis songs yet.

Yeah, that'll really flesh out the set... Yeah, I mentioned fleshing the set out, didn't I? I just reckon they will. Nothing more or less to it. But you carry on with your snide responses...

If they did play any Oasis songs they'd come across as a poor mans Oasis and I don't think they're interested in that. It was a wise move to start with a clean slate.

I have a feeling he will give in next tour and play 'Songbird' or 'I'm Outta Time' in the encore or something. I can't see them playing more than one Oasis tune tbh.

People keep mentioning the time of the set but that's not really got anything to do with the argument has it? The argument is they aren't doing enough to be a big band music wise. With the current state of music they don't stand a chance anyway.

Didn't they say they might consider they might start playing their own Oasis songs when they no longer need to or something?
I think when they do it it'll be the sign that they are truly secure in BDI.
