Forgive me if this has been done, but what's with the AKAs? Also Known As? Leads me to believe those two tracks are instrumentals.

I wondering that myself. Using an AKA once is fine, but twice on one album with only nine songs??

Would be strange to have a 10 track album with 2 instrumentals on it. Better 2 instrumentals than 2 songs that rhyme "song" and "along", though. Getting a bit tired of that pairing between Oasis and BDI

I had the same thought that those are most definitely instrumentals.

One of them was described as a dance track by Noel right? It would make more sense then. If there are two instrumentals then we're only getting 4 maybe even 2 unheard tracks-- crazy.

But from what Noel was saying there aren't that many guitars on What a Life (he initially said no guitars but then corrected)...and if he doesn't sing either...what is Noel gonna do during that song? Because he is planning on playing it as he's thought about what he's gonna do with it. I think there is a link of some sort obviously. But I don't think that they are instrumentals.

If they are instrumentals, how does that reduce the number of tracks we haven't heard? Instrumentals are still songs!
McCartney's solo debut effort was chocker with instrumentals and if Noel's album is even half as good as that then it will be excellent. As long as it's good I don't care.

My guess were that they are songs that kind of links together with the track before it... Two somehow different enough songs (so that he felt it necessary to differentiate them on the track listing), but they are linked together with a guitar solo or just some kind of instrumental jam (A Day in the Life - style) ... That would be awesome if done right. It could even be that those songs won't even be separated on the CD/LP/MP3s ... So when copying it over to the comp, you'll just se 8 tracks, and those four tracks will be longer and named "(I Wanna Live In A Dream In My) Record Machine / What A Life!" and "Soldier Boys And Jesus Freaks / Broken Arrow". Huh, think about it?? Maybe that's the way we'll get our 10 minute RM with lots of guitar solos and maybe some new lyrics! I would actually fuckin' love that...

I think that we love Noel for his melodies, not for his instrumentals. At least MG duration is over 50ms. High Flying Birds will be 46.12m, which is a song short.
I really hope we don't get instrumentals. I f Noel has an urge to release them, at least make it as bsides

Yeah, would've been awesome Would also explain why there's no guitar-solo on RM. It is a bit unlikely when you think about it. What A Life is a dance track and that's quite different from how RM sounds(at least at the demo). But not entirely impossible.

If an instrumental is mental, then it doesn't really matter. Standing on the Shoulders only had 9 songs with lyrics I suppose.

Sifer's definitely got a novel and interesting view. I wouldn't mind that outcome. I'd assume the AA album will meld together and tracks and ideas will blend. With the new, I think Noel's making his fan base happy. I think with the AA album he's gonna blow us away-- can't wait for it.
