Who else hopes that Noel does some serious work to the demo of Record Machine and builds the song around the quite simply stunning middle eight
''Ya can't give me a reason...I don't need one to shiiiine''
Seriously there has to multiple repetitions of this insane melody...it's up there with the Acquiesce chours.
Otherwise the song is quite bland
Do it Noel...do it...

What a weird thread.
Yes Record Machine has one of the best middle eights Noel's written in years, but I don't see any similarities between this song and Acquiesce. At all.
For some reason I think Record Machine is gonna be even more subdued than the demo version we have...especially if there is no guitar solo in it.

It just has that incredible feel good factor..the Acquiesce chorus and the RM middle eight

I love the RM middle 8. My favorite part. Hope he does something special with it.
A resist the acquiesce comparison though

Be a bit gutted if Noel is right about there being no solo on this track.
And I also agree about the middle 8. It's just phenomenal. I want to listen to it over and over and over.
I can't wait for the album to come out just so more people can hear this magnificent song.

He should get Liam to sing the verses?

Didn't he say no GUITAR solos before track 6? The solo could still be in it but played with a multitude of different instruments.

Well in terms of 'feel good factor' you could probably pick from about 90& of the songs Noel wrote before 1997 but anyway...been in love with the Record Machine demo since it leaked a few years back, thought then it had the potential to be one of the best Oasis tracks for a good few years, so now it has the potential to be one of the launch pads for a brilliant solo career. Can't wait to hear a polished studio version.

In terms of structure it reminds me of LTBL. I think it's much stronger though. Personally, the middle eighth is one of those great Noel moments and I think it's a really strong payoff that should stay at the end of a song with an already strong chorus. I remember hearing it thinking this is a STRONG Oasis song then the middle eight came and I had to spend the rest of the afternoon picking my brains out of the carpet.

It has the feel good factor of Go Let It Out and the epicness of Champagne Supernova... based on the demo anyway.

Didn't see you here in a while UGHF. How things in Midleton? Been lurking but not posting...Noel's new venture should hopefully change that! Things are grand in Midleton like...summer of drinking in full flow!

He should get Liam to sing the verses? Definitely. I can see "I Wanna Live My Dream in a Record Machine (feat. Beady Eye)". That would take the "shine"s to a new level.

You guys do realize there IS a demo version of Record Machine lying around somewhere with Liam on lead vocals, right? Hopefully it'll see the light of day eventually.
