I tried searching this out, wouldn't work, kept getting an error. I just read this, and it's terribly bland www.rollingstone.com/music/albumreviews/different-gear-still-speeding-20110301I was very dissapointed. All it says is they are missing Noel's lyrics and a couple songs sound like The Beatles. No insight at all. Some people go by what this idiotic publication says... I don't. I find interest in what RS says, but DO NOT go by it as a model. Anyone else find RS just pissing you off?

Rolling Stone hates Oasis/Noel and Liam. I don't know why. Did they snub them when they were bitching at each other in the 1990's? Are they just full of washed up pricks who still dream of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles?

Yes thank you, I'm glad someone thinks close to the same.
They gave Oasis album good reviews though... they just sleighted DOYS and SOTSOG a bit

That's actually a good review, considering the album is complete horse shit.

Are they just full of washed up pricks who still dream of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles? Dunno if this was meant to be a rhetorical question or not but.. No. RS gave them a cover back in either late 1995 or early 1996 and a large article.

I remember reading a large article in a Rolling Stone from the 90's. It was a large article...but not very complimentary really.

Its been so long since I've read that article, I forget whether it was complimentary or not. I think I remember Noel bitching about it from a few years ago (mostly about the tagline on the cover).

It was basically just a criticism of the Gallagher brothers with barely a mention of the music.

If memory serves correct there was a lot of tension with that Rolling Stone cover magazine shoot from 1996. Liam showed up late (naturally), the band was moody, it lasted about 20 minutes and when told by Rolling Stone what an honor it is to be on the cover and to take it serious, Liam replied "We don't need Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone needs us!". I'm pretty sure that comment along with the difficulty of the photo shoot lead to a Rolling Stone backlash that has lasted well over 12-15 years now.
Who cares about Rolling Stone magazine anyway. Nobody takes that publication seriously anymore. Probably not since the 70s. In the words of Jeff Bebe from Almost Famous:
"He looks harmless, but he does represent the magazine that trashed 'Layla', broke up Cream, ripped every album Led Zeppelin ever made."
