Being the devoted fan that I am (and also due to the very lax laws in Qatar) I have downloaded all of the AA discography. All I can say is: 'Wow!' They have some amazing stuff and I truly, truly like it. I think that if Noel's album sounds anything like their previous albums (obviously I haven't listened to all of them, yet) with a hint of his own ability then we could all be in for a surprise! Noel was, I feel, torn between two ideas. It is complete bullshit to say that he doesn't want to write 'Oasis-y' songs anymore because he wrote 'Oasis-y' songs for nearly 20 years and will continue to do so for 20 more years. However, he also appears to love AA's work and felt that they could add something to his own stuff. Maybe it'll be fooking shite? Who knows? All I know is that I am delighted that he has announced not one but TWO albums (Fuckin' buses, eh?) and that both have the potential to be outstanding. Do any of you have any particular qualms about his collaboration? I cannot stress enough how good they are, but what do I know?

I've been crowing about their involvement since we heard it might be happening at the top of the years. I think it'll special.

I also can't wait for this second album. I'm really interested to see what he does.
I'm pining for some Noel songs. I'm going to be playing STC, RM, IHAG, and EBOTR for the rest of the day on guitar.

Idiots that don't understand music genres: "Noel sounding like The Black Eyed Peas? WTF?"
Sensible People: "The AA are a fantastic psychedelic rock band"
That is all.

Listening to the band straight after hearing GOYHHL, it just clicks. NL4E said that it was dance music... it isn't. Far from it

I think it's wrong to think anyone has a higher musical understanding just because he likes something that most don't. I don't really care though
I'm not familiar with AA, I guess I'll download some tracks Could someone point me out the best ones?

I think it's wrong to think anyone has a higher musical understanding just because he likes something that most don't. I don't really care though I don't think that's really happened. This has come up because many have clearly misstated the genre that AA are in. I think that it's gone to far because now people are bringing it up in almost every other thread. But I don't think that there's some musical elitism going on (at least not intentionally).

Just listening to high and dry gets me really excited for this album. I think the first album will make us happy and the second will blow us away.

I'm not well into Ambient music but I've got two of their albums, 'The Isness' and 'AMPBEIYM'. The latter of course was introduced to me by NG when he spoke about it a couple of years ago.
I like both albums and I'm really excited by the collaboration. It's also making me wanting to dig deeper into their work and the genre in general which is a good thing too.

You can't really label AA under one genre. Like Noel said; it'll sound like anything between space jazz and funk, and that's "just the first track".
