So what do you think?
It seems like a pretty cool band personally - all are established musicians. By the way, the Sand Band guitarist - is he the singer for that band also?
I like how Mike Rowe has just popped up out of nowhere after ten years of hearing nothing about him - I always thought he was a better keyboard player than Jay Darlington, just check him out on Some Might Say from MTV Unplugged.

One of the articles earlier said there was a guy called Luis Jardim in the band, any truth in that do we know?

Seems like a bunch of random available guys. On the other hand, I wasn't expecting a supergroup with Paul Weller, Mani, Keith Moon resurrected and Russel Brand on bongo drums.

I'll share my thoughts when I've heard them in action. A group of established musicians doesn't always make a good band.

name's pretty stupid, just like BE. "high flying birds"? GMAFB! It sounds like "Ritchie Valens and His Flying Guitar". In my mind, those fuckin "High Flying Birds" will not be uttered out of my mouth. It'll always be Noel Gallagher-solo artist. Unless he comes up with a proper band then...

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds is a mental name. Love it.

It sounds a bit like a greasy fat oasis fan has finally come up with a name to call his new strip club

I like the name...seemed odd @ first. It's a nice mental picture though, optimistic. Better than the mental image of a beady eye.

Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds >> Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Not that it matters of course. Its just the name that way sounds like some 10 member 1970s funk group. I'm guessing it will be somewhat Neil Young influenced...Birds, Broken Arrow, On the Beach come to mind.

I bet 1 million pounds Noel listened to Jefferson Airplane and borrowed that Title from one of their albums...
