You, sir, just got owned. Yeah thats about as precise as plucking random figures from the air...they would be precise for about the 4/5 week of sales. Nope. They were precise upto last week. Don't let us get in the way of your deluded fandom though. UK sales are up to 134,500 now.

That doesn't say much about the UK........its a very good album and should easily be platinum....only Miles Kanes album is any competition (beady eye will never sell though because of the hate of Liam....no matter what he does)

The album is average at best.
The figures are only dissappointing when you compare it to the stuff that is selling right now. David Guetta?
The actual dissappointing one is how little airplay The Roller got. That song had class, and I think should have made it. Not reinventing the scene, but it is soft and guitary enough that I think young people (like me, but with shit taste in music) could have gotten into it.

I don't think that DGSS in neccessarily a better album. I do think it is more commercial though. I think it'd probably do closer to DBTT numbers than DOYS. It's lacking a Lyla or TIOBI...but it's singles would probably be slightly more radio friendly than the DOYS ones. this, slapping the Oasis name on the album and releasing FLW instead of BTL as the promo single would've made DGSS sell at least a couple of million copies. In other words your average sales numbers for the last few Oasis albums.

In other words your average sales numbers for the last few Oasis albums. No and NO. Different Gear Still Speeding had the promotion of being the debut album from the former members of Oasis. It 'only' sold 300,000 copies worldwide. This can only mean one thing - the songs weren't up to scratch. It wasn't a bad debut but it was by no means spectacular, and In this this 21st century world it's hard enough to sell albums even when you do have killer singles.

I listen an awful lot of music and still stand by the statement that very little of the music released this year or last gets my interest Great music is out there, one just has to look. Better albums than DGSS have been released this past year, or couple of years. But to each their own.

I think well is overstating. DOYS-hardly a huge hit for Oasis, sold over 6X what DGSS did in the UK. I think most people on this forum thought they'd sell at least about a third of what Oasis album's sold.
I think they're doing OK. If they accept the fact that they're a mid-tier band (as far as popularity is concerned) that plays a good live schedule and aren't a singles band, I think they will thrive.
And I don't understand the lack of publicity complaint. Liam's every comment was trumpeted in the music mags and papers. Every time I turn around BDI is doing another TV show or festival. Liam did a shitload of interviews, even here in North America. To me, DGSS got a lot of publicity.
