this is from a good source, but not someone i usually deal with.
1. single in september 2. album in october 3. graboff may tour with him 4. album is all over the place 5. at one time he had a concept album like greendale by neil young some of these songs made the final cut to balance out the more experimental tracks. 6. teaser may go up tomorrow
i give this a 7/10 for reliability

I don't believe your source. He's grasping at straws from rumors IMO. Nothing in there is anything that we haven't heard before. His dates might be right, because that was what the rumors are saying. We know Groboff was involved in recording, so it's not as if the idea of him being involved in a tour would be a big shock.
One thing I definitely don't believe is that the album is going to be all over the place.
Noel's obssessed with album flow. He's always point @ album flow for a reason that he makes poor tracklisting choices. No way, on his first album, is he going to release a schizophrenic record. He's been working on this for a year and thinking about it for much longer.

valid points.
the average oasis fan that loves cast, stereophonics, ocean colour scene, and derivative music of that nature will not like the album.
you weren't here for the uproar around mucky fingers this will prove to be far worse.

I don't know why I have a feeling that this will exactly be the case. And I don't know if that's good or bad news. I mean I know Noel can pull out a great album sounding fresh, mature and different, and that would be the thing I'd like the most from him, but it's still risky if it ends up being something near Mucky Fingers (which I don't like).

Good, but I hope it's even weirder than Mucky Fingers (which isn't strange at all). I like the sound of this a lot!

ive heard it may be more in the BRMC 'Howl' type of sound??? We'd all be in for a treat if that's the case. "Howl" is fantastic. One of the best albums of the previous decade.

Could you be more abstract?

Im not worried about the quality or genre of the songs because if it wasn't at least great Noel wouldn't release it its as simple as that. September/October sounds about right. Point number 6 actually excites me the most

if your source has a press badge see if he can get these questions answered:
1. is Stop the Clocks going to be on the album and will it have bongos? 2. will Milwaukee be one of the US tour stops? 3. how does he feel about Jamie leaking Stop the Clocks 3 years ago? 4. has he ever heard of the Oasis Mafia Board with Pete Bones?

I find it difficult to see Noel deviating from the acoustic stuff that seemed to dominate his writing at least around the DOYS period. Everything we've heard from him since '08 has been acoustic and songy. Don't know that he'll pull a 180 or even a significant turn from all that.
I'd expect a couple tracks that were "experimental" (more so than his Oasis stuff, anyway) and the rest to be in the style of "If I Had a Gun" or "Everybody's On The Run".

Just how legitimate is this? An abstract album evened out with more conventional tunes? Hell, that would be the most uneven album ever recorded.

Everything we've heard from him since '08 has been acoustic and songy. Don't know that he'll pull a 180 or even a significant turn from all that. Except ALL 7 of his tracks. So what if the 2 songs he played in soundcheck happened to be played acoustically. Noel just tends to play kind of light and songy in soundchecks as well. Check out his Supersonic in the soundcheck of TCT...he makes that song sound acoustic and songy as well. It all depends on what he does with them.

I agree that the album songs weren't like that, and everything from a soundcheck has sounded a bit more songy than the versions we've heard on albums or live.
The times we've heard him play on his own or even without Liam he's always gone acoustic as well. That's the closest we've got to how he'd approach playing live as a solo artist, so I would expect to see more of the same on his album.

His acoustic shows where actually stripped back Oasis shows. It just happens that Liam was one of the things stripped. lol. I don't think that Noel really loves to play that way more...it's just that if he were going to do a show in full electric Liam would sing. There has been no occasion other than gigs that Liam has bailed on for Noel to sing a whole set in front of a full band. But rumors have him recruiting a whole band. His live show might be stripped back ...but he won't for his album. Noel isn't gonna give up his electric guitar for anything though, IMO. I think he genuinely likes playing the electric guitar in front of an audience. He's never made a stripped back acoustic album all these years...I don't imagine he'll start now. And if he does, I'll be OK with it...but it won't be what is usual for Noel.
