What do you see in Beady Eye that you wish Oasis had in the last 10 years?
For me (certainly for the last two tours) it would be Liam's voice. Not only do i think he's made more effort but i think he's really benefting from the live arrangements without that wall of sound. Noel was as much to blame for Liam's late Oasis vocals as Liam was imo.
I would also say the quality of Andy Bell's songs. When you compare The Nature Of Reality and A Quick Fucking Peep to The Beat Goes On and Four Letter Word, it's laugable. I also blame Noel for, again in my opinion, holding back the rest of the band's songs to make his songs look better on the albums.
So what else would you like to have seen from Oasis that you see in Beady Eye?

Nothing about BDI excites me as much as anything by Oasis. Not that Oasis was perfect in everything, but BDI really lacks the swagger and anthemic quality that I grew to love about Oasis.
Secondly, blaming anyone other then Liam for his bad vocals is ridiculous. It is a musicians JOB to keep their instrument ready to go and in top condition. If he was too lazy to take care of it, then he was too lazy, but Noel had nothing to do with it. The wall of sound you speak of started with DM and existed the whole time, so that obviously is not the issue.

But it was obvious that Liam constantly having to battle with that massive wall of sound was making him struggle and Noel didn't do anything about it. Liam also had to use the "in ear" system which he hated. It;s no coincedence that he now sounds superb with the microphone turned up and the less pressure of that huge guitar sound.

They could have tweaked the mixing of gigs some but overall Liam is the only one to blame for his shite vocals. If the wall of sound is so much the issue then why do most of Noel's backing vocals come across loud and clear? Liam was taking the piss for a few years. No big deal. Drugs, alcohol, and fags will do that to you.

You can notice it on the roundhouse gig on some songs. I suppose you could say Liam should have done soundchecks and this would have been avoided but i certainly don't think Noel gave a shit that Liam's voice was in decline and he did nothing to help that.

Noel was a control-freak, that is beyond question. But without his vision and drive, Oasis would still likely be playing as support act in dingy dives, to supplement their dole money.
If Noel had to order Liam to siphon the petrol out of someone's car by mouth in order to obtain enough petrol to drive the group's van to Glasgow for the King Tut's gig way back when, then so be it, to hell with what it would do to the lead singer's voice: this ruthless, singular approach was essential in getting the band out of the small-time, 'nowhere' rut that so many perfectly good bands never crawl out of.

There's nothing in Beady Eye that was missing in Oasis. However, there's a hell of a lot of things missing in Beady Eye that was present in Oasis.....

I wish they would have had Lillywhite produce an album. I wish they would have had Chris drum on an album. IMO those two are the stars of the album...with Liams voice just behind. And I think the production is a major reason for Liam sounding so good so that is also another tick in the Lillywhite box, as well.
I wish Oasis would have tried to build the songs around Liam...but then Liam says he was resistent to that for BDI but gave in to popular demand. In Oasis, if Liam had said he didn't want to do it and Noel had said he thought Liam should...you just know that hell would have frozen over before Liam would have given in gracefully. Noel said during Oasis that he wanted Liam's vocals down earlier but that Liam insisted that he would only put his vocals down @ the end.
Other than that...nothing really. No one has really come out with a talent that had been masked in Oasis. The songwriting is fair to middling, the voice is better than @ it's worst in Oasis but worse than it's best. The guitars parts aren't exceptional, I was actually expecting more from that since everyone made a big deal about Andy being a better guitarist that Noel.

I wish post-1999 Oasis would've had the enthusiasm, inventive guitar and collaborative song-writing of BDI.
But I'm glad we got it now.

I agree, the increased enthusiasm and effort from Liam, especially live, that we are getting now could really have helped Oasis post-Heathen Chemistry
