Personally, I pefer the job Andy and Gem do in Beady Eye.
Only ever liked the sound of Noels voice when he was singing in acoustic solos.

I really like what Gem and Andy have done on back-up vocals this year, but I'm sorry; nothing can replace the magic of Noel's and Liam's voices at times harmonizing and then contrasting. When those two were even close to the top of their game, they could take a song to a whole nother level. All You have to do is listen to CSN at Maine Road, any of the SMS performances, or even Lyla live. When their voices were together, they were magical and dynamic. And I don't think anything will ever replace that. And I think both will forever miss that.

I don't. They were great at times, but Gem and Andy have been doing a good job.
I miss Noel's songwriting, and we're getting an album full of his songs soon, so I can't complain.

gem and andy singing together don't match noel. they do a fine job for beady eye (bring the light is a great example), but the two of em combined don't equal noel singing with liam. never will. They just don't have the presence of noel or liam.

No in this sense that this is Beady Eye and they do things slightly different, I like it when all 3 are singing like on BTL or The Roller. Miss hearing the Liam & Noel mix on live Oasis tunes, but that ship has sailed and we have Beady Eye now.
Gem and Andy do a great job, all 3 singers have different voices so you get a really good mix but man do they need turning up. Sometimes you can never hear them, especially Andy as he doesnt project as much.

Liam and Noel's combined vocals can't really be matched, imo. Their voices just blended so well together. Gem and Andy do a good job and all, but Noel's voice just added magic to the Oasis sound.
Just listen to Liam and Noel's vocals. It sounds just fucking awesome. Also, the camera work in that is complete shit.

Gems backing vocals on the roller at rock werchter sounded like he was being raped
i think liam thought it was andy at first as he looked over and shouted something but he realised it was gem after the second chorus, walked off at the end of the song and said something to someone at the side and gems vocals were alot lower after that song

I really do miss his backing voice. It was excellent. Especially the falsetto part he was developing the last few years.

Yes. When he and Liam harmonized, it provided part of that Oasis magic that made the band so special.
I think Gem and Andy are doing alright - and I like Gem on BTL and Wigwam, but Noel added another dimension that was able to enhance Liam and the song itself.

i miss him performing backing vocals on Oasis songs yes, absolutely but this is Beady Eye so no I can't miss something I've never heard. As far as Gem & Andy I very much enjoy their backing vocals I think they mesh well with Liam creating a unique sound/style.

imo, with a few exceptions Noel' s vocals (lead or backing) was the worst thing in oasis...

I love Noel but while he has developed a nice singing voice his vocals never fully complimented Liam's it always seemed to be that they were in competition with each other. I miss Oasis but the backing vocals in beady eye are better imo

Didn't like Noel's backing vocal's in Oasis later years even though his voice was vastly better when singing alone. Think Andy and Gem do a great job of backing Liam without trying to overpower him which i felt Noel did in oasis's last period.

Yes. Noel's backing vocals were half of Oasis songs and to me Noel's voice mixes perfectly with Liam's. No one can't replace the sound of their voices together.

Not at all. They were great on Cast No Shadow in 1996 but recently they were awful and often ruined the songs. Andy is infinitely better as a backing vocalist because he actually accepts that he's a backing vocalist. Noel tried to dominate Liam and it sounded ridiculous.

Gem and Andy are not very good vocalists, and the use of women on BTL is enough of an example to prove the point. Anyone who claims otherwise is "blinded by what they idolize".
Noel worked on his craft and the results show in the way he sings and projects himself. It's almost effortless with Noel. Andy and Gem seem very out of place whenever they open their mouths.
