Just thought itd be interesting to know if anybody's opinion of the album has changed since it came out?
For me, when it came out I thought it was great, not a weak song on it. I still stand by that to a certain extent but for me i now think the album is only good and not great. A solid little album with no particular standout singles for me.
If everybody puts this in the their posts we'll get a decent enough idea of the growers and shrinkers:
Favourite on release: Four Letter Word Least favourite on release: Three Ring Circus Current favourite: Morning Son Current Least favourite: Millionaire Biggest grower: Three Ring Circus Biggest shrinker: Millionaire
It'll be interesting to see if many people's opinion has grown since release...

Favourite on release: The Morning Son Least favourite on release: Beatles And Stones Current favourite: The Morning Son and Four Letter Word Current Least favourite: Millionaire Biggest grower: Three Ring Circus Biggest shrinker: Kill For A Dream
The verses in Three Ring Circus is what I like most with that song, Liam sings this song better live. Same with Beatles And Stones, grows a lot when it's played live. Both these songs sound a little too polished on the album, most Liam's voice really.
The album is good! I gave it a 7 outta 10 when it was released, and I gonna give it the same now. Four months later. I'm glad that the lads could make an album this good. Looking forward to the second one.

to me the album is still as good as i thought it was on release. i had very high expectations for the album as ive always been a fan of LAG songs and for me the album didn't fail. the only thing that i think was a letdown was that bring the light was chosen as the song to unveil beady eye to the world. they could've picked a far better tune. Favourite on release: Four Letter Word Least favourite on release: Wigwam Current favourite: Millionaire/Four Letter Word Current Least favourite: Wind Up Dream Biggest grower: Standing on the edge... Biggest shrinker: For anyone

i think i'm in the minority but for me it's a nothing album. I stopped listening to it weeks ago the only song i think i would get excited to listen to again is the roller. Not saying the rest is bad but i have plenty of other stuff to listen to which is much better.

My opinion hasn't really changed much. Thought it was a decent album with a few weak tracks when it was released. I still think its decent and it still has weak tracks, although a few other songs have grown on me as well.
Favourite on release: Four Letter Word Least favourite on release: Bring The Light / Beatles and Stones Current favourite: Four Letter Word Current Least favourite: Wind Up Dream Biggest grower: Bring The Light / Beatles and Stones Biggest shrinker: Kill For A Dream
I really disliked Bring The Light and Beatles and Stones at first. I thought Beatles and Stones was another cliched "by numbers" song with very little effort gone into it, and Bring The Light was basically utter shite. They've both grown on me a lot though. Bring The Light isn't the greatest song in the world, and I can't really listen to it on its own (I probably would have liked it more if they'd chopped a minute off the end), but its listenable in the context of the album and a decent singalong song when driving. Again, Beatles and Stones isn't exactly innovative, but I like the "I'm on my way home...." and "Whats that you say?" parts.
The standout songs for me are Four Letter Word, Millionaire, Wigwam and The Morning Son, and I'd say Wind Up Dream and Three Ring Circus are the weakest songs.

Favorite on release: Wigwam Least Favorite on release: Beatles and Stones Current Favorite: The Morning Son (best song on the album i think) Current least favorite: Beatles and Stones Biggest Grower: Bring The Light Biggest Shrinker:nothing really shrunk for me that much.
I think its a solid album. No tracks really wow me like The Turning, Falling Down, or The Shock of the Lightning did for DOYS except for The Morning Son but even thats on not on the same level.
Good: The Roller, Four Letter Word, For Anyone, Three Ring Circus and Wigwam Average: Millionaire, The Beat Goes On (i really don't understand the praise this song gets its the definition of average) , Bring The Light, Kill For A Dream (plodding a bit but its got some nice moments) Mediocre (slight below average): Beatles And Stones, Wind Up Dream, Standing On The Edge Of The Noise but these song do have some nice saving graces like piano in BAS, the harmonica solo in WUD, SOTEOTN reminds be of GOYHHL because it sounds/is better than is actually is/should be so hats off to them for that.
its a better album than I thought they'd put out. I do think they have loads of untapped potential though and their hungry to prove themselves so thats always a good thing. I'm expecting the next release to be even stronger but DGSS is a solid 7/10

Favourite on release: The Beat Goes On Least favourite on release: Beatles and Stones Current favourite: The Morning Son Current Least favourite: Millionaire Biggest grower: Beatles and Stones Biggest shrinker: Millionaire
Was really surprised when this first came out and backed up by hearing the songs live i thought it was a solid album.
I must admit I don't listen to it much anymore apart from one or two tracks and god only knows what they were thinking releasing Millionaire as a single let alone recording it.
A fair 7/10 i reckon.

I still love this album. I kinda let it rest for a while, and when I started listening to it again, it sounded so fresh and probably even better than before.
Favourite on release: The Morning Son
Least favourite on release: Standing on the Edge of the Noise
Current favourite: Wigwam (Morning Son close second)
Current Least favourite: Wind Up Dream
Biggest grower: Beatles and Stones (don't love it, but I didn't think much of it when it came out, and now I actually enjoy it a fair deal).
Biggest shrinker: None, actually.

It means what song has gone down is your estimations the most.
Favourite on release: Four Letter Word Least favourite on release: Wind Up Dream Current favourite: Wigwam Current Least favourite: Wind Up Dream Biggest grower: Wigwam Biggest shrinker: None.
I still love the album as much as I did when it first came out, it still feels really fresh and I believe this album will really stand the test of time. There are some average songs on there but overall it's a really great album and it was better than what I expected they would produce. I believe the second album will be even better as well.
8.5/10.

I think its a great album and like has been said before i think the second will be even better and i think( and i dont know why, just gut feeling) that Liam is gonna write an absolute belter of a song thats gonna be realllly realllllllllly good. I dont just mean a good liam song, i mean a great, classic tune that people will remember in years to come.
Favourite on Release: The Beat Goes On Least Favourite on release: Standing on the edge of the noise Current Favourite: Wigwam Current Least Favourite: Wind Up Dream (imo by far worst song on album) Biggest Grower: Standing on the edge of the noise( Usedto hate this, now really dig it. Probz due to the live versions) Biggest Shrinker: The beat goes on. ( When i first heard it thought it was amazing. Still good tune though
Love this Album still. In the top 3 Albums released this year for sure

Absolutely no change for me - I still think it's a really solid and impressive debut record. A couple of tracks for me stand up against with the best of post-1996 Oasis (Wigwam for the originality & TBGO for the chorus).
It's cohesive, an enjoyable listen, and instantly tossed away any doubts that the "others" would embarrass themselves without The Chief. I'd put it at 7.5/10 - and for comparison, I would have SOTSOG at 7/10, HC at 6/10, DBTT at 8.5/10 and DOYS at 7/10.

The album has grown on me a lot, which I take as a good sign. Quite a few of my favourite albums took some time to dig their claws in. I didn't know what to make of Bring The Light when it was first released, but now I love it! Best dance tune on the album!
