Someone asked for the Riddler, doubt it shell be coming on this forum again...every since that chick cyber-stalked her FB account, since then Riddler hasn't stopped by.

hmmm not sure i like my name plastered all over the interweb as Noel will probably send round a death squad I wonder what some have thought as they've been reading through some of the major sites breaking the news and seeing that some guy named "bonkers" broke the story. They must be thinking, "this is complete b.s. right?" "Who the fuck's name is bonkers?" "stupid NME!!!!!" |

If it were untrue then I'm pretty sure that Noel's camp would have denied it already. But you usually have to wait 24 hours for the denials to come, so if there's no denial by tomorrow, then its probably true. |

Nice one, bonkers. I love the title and it's definitely true otherwise they wouldn't be deleting posts and blocking specific people from following them. It's not 1997, so info probably leaked without the person thinking too much about it. Judging by the title, I can't see how it's not about him and Liam.

The most exciting thing if is inspired by the split is that this definitely won't be only old stale material.
I don't mind him using older material or anything. But it'd be nice if Noel had his muse back and he was writing by the bucketload without the pressure, stress, and resposibility that came with Oasis. Without Oasis he must have less on his plate to get in the way!

Without Oasis he must have less on his plate to get in the way! Plus, it really is not often that Noel really has something to sing about. I always thought that that was one of the things that really made his songwriting suffer in general. I've always felt that after SOTSOG (the last album with really great lyrics), that he really had nothing to write about. On the first four albums, it always seemed as if there was at least some kind of a message behind them (intentional or unintentional) Is Noel really writing about anything on HC, DBTT, or DOYS? I don't think so. Now don't get me wrong, there are really great songs on those albums, but at times those songs seemed half done to me. Just because the lyrical component that was once in most of Noel's songs, was lacking on those last 3 albums. I mean, take DOYS. The Turning, Falling Down, and TSOTL, are all really good songs. But are the lyrics really any good? I don't think so. Noel could have done a lot better on those lyrics. And those songs could have been a lot better if their lyrical components had actually been somewhat above average. I think his music greatly suffered, because he just ran out of things to say. Hopefully this ignites his lyrics to be good again. The melodies will always be good, but Noel is at his best when his melodies and lyrics are both on the same level. Which in my opinion, was not the case when it came to the final 3 Oasis albums. |

I quite like the POTQ, TIOBI, and FD lyrics. Point taken about the rest though.
I like that the first three albums seemed slightly thematic. HC, DBTT there definitely weren't. There were some common themes around DOYS in some of Noel's work though...and I think that had a lot to do with the fact that those ones were written around the same time. I think for HC and DBTT even Noel's songs weren't neccessarily current and that had something to do with it.
Noel said that DOYS were the most current batch of songs on an Oasis record and I think by that he meant mostly his
I like the stories from the DOYS recording sessions on Noel demoing and writing material in a studio next door while they were recording sometimes. Or Gem saying Noel'd stay behind and demo the stuff they were going to be doing the next day.
Despite peoples assertions that the 5-year break thing was because he wasn't passionate about music anymore, those stories don't strike me as those of a man that's struggling to get up the enthusiasm to make music. He may have been getting bored with Oasis...but I don't believe he was bored of music.

What pisses me off is the fact the he (probably) has the album ready, he even filmed a fucking video for the first single, and yet, he couldn't bother to at least CONFIRM he is actually working on something. Im not asking for dates, song titles, or whatever. I'd only like him to say "yeah, I'm working on a cd". FFS it's almost July. If you're going to release something by the end of the summer, you should start at least talking about....
