What have you been working on most recently? I’ve recently had the good fortune to do two record projects in a row with a full band playing live and recording to 2” tape. I love making records that way. Real old school and they sounded so great. One was in New York with Shooter Jennings and other one was in Nashville with a singer/songwriter named Gabriel Kelley (the one Reggie Young was on). In between those two projects, I went to LA to record some pedal steel on a song by a very famous musician who I can’t really mention just now. Sorry to be evasive but in some cases, it’s best to err to the side of discretion! By the way, the producer is also very well known and was impressed by the Strymon pedals.the full article here www.strymon.net/2011/06/07/interview-with-pedal-steel-guru-jon-graboff/

old news apart from the qoute. he said on his facebook page he was working with Noel But, it says the producer is very well known, does that mean it isn't Sardy? Cos he's not that well known, comparatively.

Old news already, but I do wish we knew more about the people who were on this album. Sometimes you can tell an album's material or genre, by the instruments on them. Like if I heard that Noel was using a string section on his album, I would assume a nice shiny ballad. If heard he was using a mellotron on it, then I would assume that it was something with a psychedelic twist.
Well at least with Graboff, I hear pedal steel, then I'm automatically assuming that it's not for a dry acoustic. So if his track is used, then all the people who have this fear of an album that is full of dry acoustics, can at least somewhat rest assured that they'll be at least one track that will not be a dry acoustic. But that's just my opinion.

Cos he's not that well known, comparatively. Are you kidding? Sardy is one the most well known and successful producers working today. I'd be more surprised if it WASNT Sardy. He was just nominated for a Grammy for Best Producer and it was like his 3rd or 4th in that category. Not that Grammys mean shit, but it definitely goes to the "Very well known" aspect.

Hopefully, with pedal steel and guest musicians on the album, the musical pallette will be expanded on the Noel album, rather than just same old guitar, bass and drums.

This is the fellow who plays pedal string for Ryan Adams and th Cardinals, isn't it? I like his sound. I hate country, but I like what they do on their records.
