Yep; the strings give it that bit extra it needs to be a brilliant song. When I first heard it I couldn't believe it has never been released really as an "Oasis song" (bar on the soundtrack of Goal!) Another perfect example of a really good "wasted" song =(

I've always thought it was about Tony Blair and the fact that the Labour promised so much in 1997 and turned out to be so completely useless - 'lost behind a silver screen are all the things you could have been to us'.

One of the Noel's greatest. Real shame that it was never introduced to the masses in Oasis compilations, albums or on tour.

Such a beautiful song. Ain't got a clue on what it's about, but the lyrics are so moving. & I love the line 'So don't try and fuck up my head with your problems'

A song that had so much potential and popular appeal. Had they used it properly it would have easily surpassed SCYHO, maybe even go up there close to DLBIA.

The one song that should convince even the doubters that he still could produce the magical glories that were once abundant on WTMSG
Also, I never thought of the political undertones - Teot may be onto something here.....

Best unreleased/b-side after BHN by far.

I like it for what it is - a hidden song that nobody really knows or cares about.
It could have been so much more though with better production and a few tinkers here and there.

it's really really good. Doesn't have mass appeal or anything like some of the other Oasis ballads but i still like it.

It's a great song and it's a shame that it was only released for the Goal soundtrack really and not a proper Oasis album track.

This is a very good example of one their best songs not being released on an album or a single. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

I haven't listened to this song in a very long time. Mind you, I'm not sure if it's actually available on any of the streaming sites. I do have the Goal soundtrack somewhere though and I've always liked the version of Cast No Shadow which is also on there.

Itβs a song Iβve been enjoying playing on guitar a lot lately.
Brilliant song, great vocals from Noel, good lyrics and the stings kick it up a notch.
I donβt mind that it wasnβt on an album, we have the song thatβs all that matters. I just wish Noel played it live at some point.

It's a shame that Noel has never played this song live but I guess if he was going to he would have done it by now. So I doubt that there's any chance of him signing it live in the future.
