Personally i cant see noel having a big load of slow songs on his album, i feel he can pull of rockers at times, just look at 1. step out 2. the importance of being idle 3. round are way (check out the jools holland version) 4. waiting for the rapture 5. rocking chair (live) 6. full on 7. some might say (live or demo) 8. the fame 9. falling down\ 10. the hindu times (demo) 11. roll with it (noel gets to the point) 12. helter skelter
so i dont understand why people think noels voice doesnt suit more upbeat rockier songs, i think he does them brilliantly what do you think?

Hi lads, my first post. Been lurking for awhile..thought I'd hop in on this one.
I would expect three or so harder songs, but my guess is that the majority will be along the lines of "Sad Song", "Don't Look Back in Anger (Acoustic version)", "Stop Crying Your Heart Out", and "Stop the Clocks". Hopefully he has polished up "If I had a Gun", or whatever that song is...that one is fuckin' crackin.

I don't know what to expect anymore and it's doing my head in! NOEL WE NEED SOME NEWS NOW!! Funny thing is that when I joined the board the general consensus seemed to be that the LAG project was the one that would be the hardest to figure out what it would sound like and Noel, having been artistic director of Oasis, would be easier to understand. Ironically, it ended up sounding as conservative as anyone could have guessed. Well within the comfort zone of an Oasis fan. And now that Noel's album is in the works everyone is getting so much less sure about what the album will sound like. I personally think that it'll suck if both brothers produce albums full of songs that easily could have been Oasis albums. I want someone to branch out...and apparently it isn't gonna be BDI (although who knows, they could pull a Radiohead on the second album and put me to shame)

I expect Noel's album to sound nothing like the songs you have listed (bar Falling Down) This. Sadly. What? If it were dull plodding rockers I'd be really disappointed. Let's hope not - I'd love for their to be ballads like If I Had A Gun on it though. If there are to be rockers on it, he should use this demo as a template.

I reckon Noel's album will be very balanced. There will be rockers and slowers. I don't think he'll write more complicated and complex music just for the sake of it. I mean, we all know what influences drove and drives his songwriting. Why wouldn't he keep writing the kind of music he loves? Mcgee himself compared the songs to MG era. If they were weird I don't think he would make such a comparison.
People are giving to much importance to Falling Down. I believe it was an exception (and even an experiment) to fit DOYS sound.
The thing I'm most unsure about is the production, cause he can take an infinite number of directions in that matter. Anthems wise, I can't say. Does he still got what it takes?

Stop the clocks, Record Machine and 'If I had a gun' have been re-recorded very recently adding to the 19 new other tracks under consideration.

I want someone to branch out...and apparently it isn't gonna be BDI I don't agree with you here, DGSS doesn't sound like Oasis that much. It's a lot 'lighter', there's no wall of sound. And most importantly, the production is totally different. And then I didn't even mention Liams voice yet. I agree though that it would suck if both brothers would produce Oasis-like albums. But I don't want them to change too dramatically either. I liked Oasis, so why would I want something totally different? I love the direction Beady Eye took, and I'm hoping Noel will do great as well!

If its a bunch of acoustic boring tracks then fuck it. Noel listens to a lot more styles of music then he puts on, I hope he shows that side of him.

I love his acoustic stuff. Don't find it boring at all, and hope there is a lot of it on the album.
Need a few songs that are balls to the wall too though.

I'll guarantee they are the only known tracks that are in consideration for the project, introduced very very late on because of the scepticism over the marketability of the heavy androgynous amorphous influenced tracks. Some of them you could not put a genre on they are that out there. The second demo cd i heard sounded nothing like the acoustic demos that preceded it. That was Noel's initial concept to produce an album that you "wouldn't know in what section in HMV to put it". The only thing that has been decided is the lead single. My friend is working on 'If I had a gun..' at blackbarn at the moment with Weller's engineer and they're using the demo from the acoustic demo cd, same one Alan McGee was championing. Though STC n RM has been recorded.

I don't know onexcitedyoungman's record, but I trust him here.
Regardless, I just want a proper version of RM. That song has so much potential, it's insane.....
