But this is based on the Oasisinet post so really no new insight here ....

Oasis has fired drummer Alan White, according to a terse post on the U.K. rock act's official Web site. "Alan White has been asked to leave Oasis by the other band members," it says. "There are no plans to replace Alan. The band's scheduled recording sessions remain unaffected."

well, whats the difference between asked to leave and sacked. I mean come on do you really think if he'd of gone "no i dont want to leave" they'd have kept him. Asked to leave is just a nicer way of saying sacked imo.
