We're under one month until Beady Eye's first official U.S. appearance in Chicago. I thought I would start a thread for all of us who are going. Those of you that are from the area or are familiar with downtown (Wrigleyville) I was wondering where the pre-party is going to be at? Let's all try and meet a few pubs beforehand and talk Oasis/ BDI. Recommendations anyone? I'm counting down the days.

The Cubby Bear will be packed since it's Cubs/Yankees weekend. Still, that place rules and is surprisingly NOT overpriced. I remember thinking it was going to cost me $12 for a beer the first time I went there and was surprised that it was around $5 for a pint.

There is a place that is approximately 3 miles from the Metro called Christina's Place that has $2 Guinness' all day, everyday! It's a nice little dive bar. A few of us are going to go there earlier in the day I believe and then move closer to the Metro as the day moves on so we can walk over. What places are close to the Metro? Anyone have any suggestions?

Is Cullen's going to be the place? I feel good about that if so. Maybe I could contact them and see if they'll play some Oasis/ Beady Eye for all of us while we're in there.

Anyone have any suggestions? There are so many bars to go to in around that neighborhood it's not even funny. I use to go to high school down by the Wrigleyville neighborhood. It's hard to think of particular place you guys should go to. The main problem is that most of the bars in that neighborhood will be packed because of the Cubs/Yankees series. All I can say is that you should try to stay away from the obvious bars: like the Cubbie Bear, Bernies, Morgans. If you wanted those, then you probably should have reserved a space. There are a ton of bars that are kind of hidden away throughout that neighborhood. And most are pretty good. Some of the bars are major and some are more like "neighborhood" bars. Where only people in the neighborhood go to. Cullen's is a great suggestion, and I suggest that you guys follow up on that. It's a local pub, they're extremely friendly, it's somewhat hidden away in that it doesn't get as packed as the others do, and it has a pretty good atmosphere. Unfortunately I won't be there, guess I'll have to wait for the Noel solo tour.

correct me if im wrong, but at the metro the act has to go in the same way as the patrons...so the best place to meet them would be in front of the building correct? met serg from kasabian there in 2006

Stay safe and enjoy the gig, guys. What could happen in Chicago? j/k If any of you are planning to sight see or anything like that, make sure that you stay away from the South side and the far west side. I've seen tourist get completely lost somehow or another and end up in parts of town that aren't the safest places to be. It appears that most people on this thread have been to Chicago at one time or another. This is just for people who maybe going and don't know what are the bad parts of town to stay away from.

The area around the Metro is awesome. Great place to walk around. Super close to Wrigley Field (the Yankees are in town- game at 3:05). Real nice area. My friends and I are going to go to another bar around 3:00 and then to Cullen's around 5:00 I think. Might start queuing around 7:00 if the show is at 8:30.

How is the area around the Metro? We're flying in that morning, I wonder if there will be a line early.. Metro is on the North side in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. The entire North side is pretty brilliant. Especially the Wrigleyville neighborhood. The Wrigleyville neighborhood is so great and amazing! Love all the bars and all the people are incredibly nice. I'm sure you'll love the neighborhood. It's a great place to be in on regular days, and definitely on the days of Cub games. You shouldn't have any problems. You won't be anywhere near the south or far west sides which was the part I was outlining as the places you should stay away from. The only way you go there is if you're extremely lost. But yeah, Wrigleyville is great, downtown is amazing. Be free to site see. Hope you have a great visit!
