The Darkness are up for four nominations at the Brit Awards - the most this year for any act.
They were on the David Letterman show in the US on Friday as 'Permission to Land' was the highest rising album in the chart over there last week.
They say the secret to cracking the States is to not make the same mistakes as Oasis:
"I don't know how hard they tried. I'm not really sure how good they are either."
"Oasis must have strutted in, four and a half foot tall or whatever they are, thinking, 'Oh God, this country's ours for the taking!' and then as soon as it doesn't go their way they go, 'Ooh, that's not quite working is it? Shall we go back to the UK where we're really popular and successful? Knock it on the head, can't be bothered with this.'"

if thats so why do they return to america every tour. Oasis have something to be arogant about the darkness do not.

Seriously, their debut album is the most overrated ever and I've been saying that for a long time before the Darkness vs Oasis row (one of the biggest UK bands EVER vs a poxy Queen tribute act)
I mean, they don't have a single song I like and how can I put this...oh yeah, they're shit!
And extremely bitchy by the sounds of it, Noel's the first person who's had the guts to come out and say they're crap and he won't be the last!

darknes= little shitheads with long hair, who don't have any idea in style and music..I tell you why they are so popular- because they look like guys from "Spinal Tap"..I don't believe it, if anyone says thay had " energie", clowns don't have anything, excepting stupid look..
when they did 6 brilliant albums,change face of the country and rock'n roll history - then they can open their fuckin mouth and say some shit about Oasis..until these days( which will never come), they have to be silent and make what they call music.,

first off, i like "i believe in a thing called love" catchy song.
but....he's a loser. seems to me, he's copying oasis. trying to be all big and crap. try again, hawkins, liam and noel's already done that bit looooong before you. they're getting their time now. cheers to noel for calling them crap, too bad hawkins can't take it.
didn't he use to say he liked oasis? what a loser.

Quite liked two of their songs, but as someone said they got old quick. Not in the least comparable to Oasis or any other band fe'r that matter.
Pretentious, over ambitious happy poppers. That's what they are, I can squeeze myself into a pink vinyl outfit and scream my arse off too but I have self control...

If anyone defines what The Darkness is "making" as music,
then I really don't know what have happened to music the last few years....
Really hope that Oasis and The Darkness are going together for the Glastonbury, so Liam can slap Justin's ugly face.
Saw that some guys called Liam "shitfaced" on the first night of Wembley gigs, well thats nothing compared to Justin's "everyday-f**kface".
